MoonRakerSCM Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Hi, long time reader and watcher (of the trip reports) first time poster... kinda obvious. Anyways, I'm in the process of planning a trip to Tokyo with my friends revolving around Disney... I made the deal though that they get 3 days in the Disney parks and I get one in Tokyo. So... Tokyo... I want to experience all the fun stuff, see crazy shops, outrageous arcades, and spend most of my money of the trip on the vending machines... with these aspects in mind... where do I go? Would, Joyopolis and the surrounding Odaiba area do me good? Or what? Any info will be helpful... thanks! (I think this is right but if this belongs in another forum please do so.)
SharkTums Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Thanks for posting! I would definitely recommend the area around Joypolis, that one arcade under the giant ferris wheel is incredible! In addition to that, I would check out the Tokyo Dome area (plus there are coasters there!), Shinjuku, and Akihabara. It's pretty easy to get to all of these places on either trains or subway, let me know if you need any other help or suggestions. Have a great time, make sure to post a TR and photos when you get back!
MoonRakerSCM Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 Thanks! I assume that the 'Palette Town' area and the area that Joyopolis is part of (is it Decks?)would make for a fun day then. The idea was on our last day we'd take the train from our hotel at Disney over there and just wander around. Well, I'm still sorta planning and getting my 'less than worldly' friends to agree to go which will be quite a task, but we'll see. Thanks again! I'll certainly ask around here when I get into deeper details... like Tokyo Disney costs, suggestions, what I should know etc.
rollermonkey Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 When you figure out when you are coming, drop me a PM. If I'm not out to sea, I could meet up with you if you'd like. It sounds like you are coming to do more than coaster whore, and that's great. I can give you station names for some of the more interesting sites in and around Tokyo.
