I've posted this on Westcoaster, so if you saw it there, kindly ignore it.

Sunday morning, I got Diana up so she could go to DCA with her boy toy, Trent, and his family. Normally, I'd still be sound asleep till 11, being a weekend. But since I was up anyway, I figured I'd go to SFMM and get it broken in for the year.

Before going out there, though, I made a stop at The Grove, right next to Farmer's Market in L.A. to check out the trolley---who'd have thought an outdoor shopping center would have a trolley running down the center? That didn't take very long, so after riding that, I headed north to Valencia.

Y'know what made my day? (Well, besides seeing some kid fall on his butt riding those skate shoes), driving up to the toll booth and facing that $15.00 parking fee sign and knowing that showing my Xtreme Play Pass would save me paying that. At 2pm, only the first part of the lot was filled and I found a spot near the first guard tower. I treated myself to a tram ride and went right into the park (passing the $59.99 sign, too!).

First off was Goliath. Two-train operation and a two-train wait for the front row. A nice ride as always, no blacking out in the Helix of Death. After we got back, I got out and went to the next-to-last row for another fun ride.

Second, I went to ride Scream! but they said it was closed due to wind. So I went to ride Batman instead. 20-minute wait with a single train running. I didn't want to wait for the front, so I rode in Row 3. Not a bad ride, a little headbanging, though.

Next was Riddler's Revenge. Two trains were running, and I waited about two trains to ride. I'm not sure what to think, but I had some major headbanging on this ride---the worst I've ever had on Riddler's. Even with little wait, I didn't want to ride again.

Gold Rusher was next. Single train, two train wait. Fun as always. I could have ridden again, but chose not to.

I hiked up the hill and stepped over a couple of bodies (probably ACEers who pooped out trying to get up there). Superman was only running the right track, and I waited all of two cycles for the front row. Fun, but this ride has been way overshadowed by the Intamin rocket coasters.

With Ninja closed, there was nothing else to do up there, so I went back down. It was getting cold with the wind, so I thought I'd call it a day. With the Rapids Camp Crossing area closed, the only way back to the front of the park was to go all the way around. As I passed the Gotham City entrance, I noticed that Scream! was indeed running. I headed over there and waited three trains for Row 7. Nice ride.

By now, I was pretty cold and had ridden all that I wanted, so at 4:45, I headed out, again, opting for the tram. And, believe it or not, they were running two of them!

Not too bad for an impromtu trip to the Mountain!

overshawdowed? The thing has lost all of its kick in the launch, I swear my mom's mini van has better acceleration the S:TE But at least when you still get some floaty feelings at the top, though and it always makes me smile.
