Reon Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 It all started back in 2002, when a group of enthusiests pulled their efforts together deep in the woods. They managed to create a small, but sturdy wooden coaster they named Project: Wildcat. http://www.uploadengine.com/getfile.php?file=1135551895CA141.bmp As a few years past, people began to come, and even pay to ride this hidden credit. Eventually, the origional owners had enough to make the ride more professional, and buy a merry-go-round and a few concession stands. http://www.uploadengine.com/getfile.php?file=1135551776CDC18.bmp Within a year, A few coaster chains spotted this hideaway in the woods, and began to fight over it. Eventually Cedar Fair won, and immediately gave the park a large grant, and built a parking lot and roadway to the park. What resulted was a house designed-but Intamin built rocket coaster, as well as a few other rides... http://www.uploadengine.com/getfile.php?file=1135552605E38C3.bmp Now, its 2006, and construction has began on the border of the official park property...Though the area is fenced off, guests have seen the crests of the hills already. It appears that Legacies' next expansion will feature a water ride, and a spinning wild mouse... http://www2.uploadengine.com/getfile.php?file=1135694761D8350.bmp --- Im not going to post the download till the park is finished. For now, enjoy the screens...
kenshinmac Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Please Please Please... Just convert them to jpgs and post them to this server next time. You have kinda a cool idea but going to another site to wait for huge bitmaps is no fun. Just run them through Paint and you can just select "Save As" and pick JPEG in the file type.
Reon Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 I dunno. I tried that once, and it REALLY blurs the images....
kenshinmac Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 You can say what you want but no one wants to sit waiting for a half meg picture to download. Bitmaps are the devil if you want a better compressor try looking at a program called "The GIMP" which will give you more flexibility in your compression.
Corkscrewy Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I just right click the picture and open with microsft pic manager and edit it and click on compress picture and then select web pic. Or something like that. Now about the park, I like the first 2 updates. But at soon as Cedar Fair got it I think it lost its feel. I liked the small woodie and merry-go-round. But after that I think it lost the small park type feel. Thats just me. I mean, dont get me wrong, it looks good but, I just like the smaller feel to it.
momo1tx Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Yeah, I liked the way this park was heading in the beginning, with a unique idea, but now it seems kind of blah with the typical "chain buying the park" approach. I liked the way it was in the beginning.
Reon Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 Well, I had origionally planned that Cedar Fair is eventually gonna ditch the park and let it finish blosomming on its own (while retaining its old charm...) Just let them have another update before the fall from Grace...Also, Ill make the next shots on paint into jpgs for you guys...
Reon Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 Update: New for 2006! Psyco Spin and Tidal Force! Unfortuanately, Psyco Spin was a complete bomb. The only riders in the entire season were credit whores, and even THEY hated it. Infuriated, Cedar Fair withdrew it's ownership of Legacies, dismantalling Psyco Spin, and taking back most of the workers and the towers as they left. Now the park is back in it's owners hands, but they have little to no funds left to fix their attractions...
Reon Posted December 28, 2005 Author Posted December 28, 2005 After 2 rough years, becoming ditched by their former sponsers, and gaining unwanted vegitation, Legacies is finally back on their feet. Reverting back to the methods which created the origional park, the owners once more turned to the tress to create a new wooden coaster. This time, it was a wooden mouse that takes place in and around the old tower complex. Affectionatly named Infestation, the parks second attempt at a mouse brought Legacies back from the grave... WARNING! The next picture may offend all credit whores/or PR enthusiests. It seems that Project Wildcat, the park's centerpiece is being dismantled to make room for the 2008 expansion...
Reon Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 Immediately after PW started to become dismantalled, about half of the park's trees were taken down and moved over to the area once occupied by Wildcat. Soon, support beams began to rise, continuing where the lift left off. It wasnt long before guests had figured out the next expansion. Legacies presents for 2008: A reprofile'd souped up Project Wildcat! Immediately, the trademark coaster was a success... Park overview for the '08 season. Notice all the missing follage, and the remains of Psyco Spin's area.
kenshinmac Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Why doesn't it have a longer line? Doesn't it seem like a coaster like that should have a bigger line?
coasterfreak101 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I really like how you are putting the park together, with the story. I agree with kenshinmac though, Wildcat needs a longer line. And why is the name still PROJECT Wildcat? The only other thing I don't like, and I am amazed that I am saying this, is the big Intamin. Like a few others have stated, it really takes away from the small park feel. I also really liked the park at the beginning, and while I am glad that CF discontinued their work with the park before any more "feel" could be "lost" there is still a BIG Intamin that just overpowers the rest of the park. On a complimentary (big word!) note, I again really like how this park is coming along, keep this up!!!
Reon Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 As for Wildcat's line, it started out a small coaster, so it had a small line. When Legacies rebuilt it, they focused on the coaster, not the surrounding area...And yes, it will remain Project Wildcat. The idea behind the ride is it starts out small, then slowly progressess to get fiercer and fiercer. Im gonna try to make a PW in each Legacies park, if I decide to eventually make a chain... As for the Intamin, funny thing about it. Although it remains successfull, it breaks down...Alot. Especially now that most of the staff is gone Im thinking the next update will focus on smaller details, like adding more facilities, changing PW's line, and rehiring staff...
