pgathriller Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 My home park here in El Paso is moving to New Mexico and some city officials went to Cedar Point to look at a roller coaster that is up for sale. Here's the story- http://www.borderlandnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050808/NEWS/508080329/1001 Last week, two of Mayor John Cook's aides were in Cleveland checking out the state-of-the-art Cedar Point amusement park -- and a roller coaster that's for sale there. Which coaster is up for sale? If a coaster is up for sale, there will be room for a new one. It would be cool for Cedar Point to get a new coaster. But then the argument over the Cedar Point and SFMM coaster competition gets more complicated. Here's the thread- http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19852 * Let the rumors begin! * I wish it was Top Thrill Dragster or Millenium Force that were up for sale. It would be so cool getting one of those coasters here.
momo1tx Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 It was confirmed long ago that this article had many errors. One, it said Cedar Point was in Cleveland, two, CP said it themeselves that no coaster was for sale, and three, the author admitted to making a mistake. This was from August, you think something would have happened by now if this was true.
pgathriller Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 ^ I know the article had some wrong information but I never heard that all of this was a mistake. When did this come out? Just curious?
momo1tx Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I believe shortly before Demon Drop was announced for sale, possibly the arcticle considered Demon Drop a coaster, as some people do.
Red Benny Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I would say in the slim chance that Cedar Point actually would sell a coaster it would be something small like Wildcat. But I imagine even that would be highly unlikely.
