Ride refurb soft re-opening?

Heading to Orlando Jan. 24 to 31 and I notice Splash Mountain is set to be down until Jan. 31.

 

Should we bother trying to go on the 31st for the alleged opening date? Do they ever reopen early after these seasonal refurbs?

Yes, actually, but there is no guarantee. Haunted Mansion just re-opened a few days earlier than scheduled on their last re-hab so it is possibly. It also also possible for it to get extended a day or two.

That's what I figured, thanks! I'll report back once we get there if I get wind of soft open date.

When I last went down 7 or 8 years ago, Big Thunder Mountain was supposed to be down the whole week we were there, but it opened our third day and stayed open (about a week earlier than they had posted on their website).

 

On that same visit, Carousel of Progress was supposed to re-open from refurb on day 4 of our five-day trip, but it never did. I think I read that it opened about 2 days after we left (4 days late in total IIRC).

 

So, yeah, you never know for sure...

Turns out it opened Jan. 30 at 3:30 p.m. We got 5 rides in two days. Forgot to post that day.

 

Major bonus when you think one of your faves will be closed and they soft open.

 

A good reminder to go over to the ride just to make sure. It still said 'closed' online and in the app.
