Whodey
So I have 34 hours in PHL and want to get some missed credits and grab as many small Jersey parks as I can. Sunday August 31 I am leaving downtown PHL to hit up SFGAdv at opening to get Dark Knight credit that was closed last time I was there. I plan on getting a front seat and back seat of El Toro. After that I don't know what to do. I don't mind leaving to grab new credits or stick around and ride some things. I do want to get to Morey's Pier since there are 6 credits and some look good. Any advice on where I should go and what routing to get max credits in? I don't go for kiddie credits. I don't know if it is worth getting Hellcat at Clementon or if I should try to grab a bunch of those pier type places? The only one that looks like it might have decent coaster is Playland's Castaway Cove. If these places are more of credit whoring I would rather keep riding things at SFGAdv. larrygator
It depends on your definition of kiddie coaster. The following suggestion includes family coasters, but you may consider some of them kiddie. After SFGAdv: Jenkinson's: (Flitzer) Casino Pier: Pirates Hideaway Steel Pier: Crazy Mouse Gillian's Wonderland: Runaway Train Playland's Castaway Cove: Flitzer, Python Morey Piers: 6 credits None of the coasters are very good. I suggest Morey Piers last since they have the latest hours. If your GPS is reflective of traffic, use it. The shortest looking route might not be the shortest along the Jersey Shore. If you only want to do the southern most parks I suggest you head west after you leave SFGAdv and turn left to take Route 539 South until it connects directly with the NJ Parkway. Playland's Castaway Cove also has some good flat rides, in particular Tropical Storm, Xtreme Cyclone, Air Race
Whodey
Is Hellcat worth stopping in to Clementon Park? To me a kiddie coaster is Great Pumpkin Coaster at KI/KD and Woodstock Express is family coaster. What time do you think I would have to leave SFGadv to hit all those piers? I am very quick at those places. Run in ride coaster run out.
BlahBlahson
If I was traveling solo, willing to spend any amount of money, and my only plan at Great Adventure was to do 2 rides on El Toro and 1 on Dark Knight, eating only quick and cheap, and with no traffic considerations (only drive times@7MPH over the limit on the toll roads) it would probably be possible to hit: Great Adventure 2 credits (between 8:55 AM and 10:15AM) Funplex : 1 credits (Around 11:10 AM) Clementon: 1 credits (Around Noon) Jenkinson's: 2 credits (Between 1:50-2:10PM) Casino Pier: 2 credits (Around 2:45 PM) Steel Pier: 2 credits (Around 4:15 PM) Ocean City, NJ: 5 Credits (Around 5:15 PM) Morey's : 6 credits (Between 7:00 PM and 12:30 AM) In a single day. Not that I'm obsessive or anything. In reality, the only pier park that might be worth leaving Great Adventure for would be Morey's, but only because it has the most stuff. Otherwise these parks are easy to credit whore, nothing much to them. Clementon is one rough woodie vs Morey's which is 1 good wooden, 5 other credits and more flats and dark rides. But depending on what you want to do, traffic shouldn't be terrible on a Sunday, and the parks are easy to get in/get out if you pay for parking tolls/meters, hustle, and everything's open. You never know how Jersey Shore traffic will be on a weekend. My drive times are conservative assuming traffic in the beach areas I would plan 45 minute drive from SFGadv to Jenkinson's One hour drive from Jenkinson's to Seaside Heights 75 minutes drive from Seaside Heights to Steel Pier 45 minute drive from Steel Pier to Ocean City 45 minute drive from Ocean City to Wildwood
Whodey
I was on the Jenkinson's website and it said Flitzer has no single riders. From the pictures of the train it looks like I would need to get someone to ride with me and they have to sit on my lap. Any advice for getting to ride without looking like Chester the molester?
