mark.w
I presume you have ridden this coaster thus I have some questions. What type of coaster is it? EGF is known because of a huge drop and shed load of ejector air. MF is recognized as a speed coaster. Goliath is famous due its unique Stengel dive. I rode EGF and Goliath so this is the only comparison I have at the moment. What's so special about Thunder Dolphin appart from a trick track section? Does it provide much airtime? Is it an ejector or a floater? And eventually the last thing that I keep bearing in my mind. There're no air gates on this coaster (picture). Its kinda strange, isn't it? Anyone knows why? SharkTums
What type of coaster is it? Intamin Mega Coaster aka Hyper. EGF is known because of a huge drop and shed load of ejector air. MF is recognized as a speed coaster. Goliath is famous due its unique Stengel dive. EGF is much, much better. Goliath is much better. Even MF (which I am no longer the biggest fan) of is better. Thunder Dolphin doesn't really offer anything. After the first drop it does not maintain speed, it does not have any good overbanks, and there is no airtime. What's so special about Thunder Dolphin appart from a trick track section? The surroundings are AWESOME...the trick track section is a joke, not interesting at all. Does it provide much airtime? Is it an ejector or a floater? No, the only airtime is on the first drop. It is all floater, there is no ejector air on it. I have sat in the front and the back. And eventually the last thing that I keep bearing in my mind. There're no air gates on this coaster (picture). Its kinda strange, isn't it? Anyone knows why? The Japanese people are very orderly and obidient, they do not need airgates to keep them back...just a yellow line! Hope this helps!
mark.w
Thanks a lot indeed. This is what I wanted to know.
gisco
One thing I found funny About Thunder Dolphin was that they don't allow anything in your pockets, nothing! You have to empty your pockets. Even the paper map had to be removed from my front pocket and my wallet from my buttoned back pocket. With no airtime or inversions it seems kind of dumb. The real funny part was they would allow you to ware your glasses even if you didn't have a strap. Go figure.
