grrt Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 This is one of the more well executed hybrid style coasters I've seen! (I think making a wood coaster with steel supports is far more interesting than the other way around.) You've got a great looking layout and a really tremendous site plan. Your support style is quirky, yet it really works against the wood track. The first drop really showcases it well. I can't wait to get a better look at the layout and I hope you can keep at this, it's a really cool concept!
Wilhelm1407 Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) I've completed the station, entrance, and exit for Amalgam. I also added more braces on to the lift hill. Another change I made was I tweaked the layout a bit. I smoothed out the hill/ turn after the loop , and made the drop into the underground tunnel a double dip. Edited January 5, 2015 by Wilhelm1407
Wilhelm1407 Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) Just a small update on Amalgam. I've added some more details to the rapids ride next to it, such as catwalks and watch towers. I'm also working on the lighting. Edited January 5, 2015 by Wilhelm1407
Wilhelm1407 Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) My work on Amalgam is finished. I'll start filming the off ride footage and onride pov possibly tonight or tomorrow. Edited January 5, 2015 by Wilhelm1407
Wilhelm1407 Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 (edited) I've finished filming the day and night onride povs. I'm currently filming the off ride povs, and flying camera shots. In the meantime I thought I would share some panoramic night time screen shots. Edited January 5, 2015 by Wilhelm1407
Wilhelm1407 Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 I've finished editing the pov footage of Amalgam! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
scbt Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Wow, looks great! I can honestly I never thought I'd see someone support a wooden coaster in the way that you did. I especially like the turn around following the lift with the Vertigo-esque supports.
