robs_oralce Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Hello, I am a long time reader and coaster nut, but first time poster. So hello! As a UK resident I have almost all the coasters here ticked off and I have taken the plunge booked a trip to Orlando from the 19th April-3rd May. I wanted to ask if you had any advice for first timers, where I can get the best deals for parks and where is a good place to visit for accommodation. We are looking to do most of Disney, as well as Universal and Busch Gardens. Potentially with a trip to Seaworld. Any advice, tips and tricks would be appreciated. Rob
SharkTums Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Are you talking about this year? You're leaving in less than two weeks and haven't booked tickets, transport, or accommodations yet?!?! When you say 'we' who are you talking about? Family? Ages? What do you guys like? If you want some help and your trip is in two weeks you better start working hard and giving us more info to help you!
robs_oralce Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 Indeed, we're coming in two weeks time, we left it late becuase I am an actor and I am just coming off a tour, before (hopefully) starting a job in the busy summer months. We booked the flights three days ago, so it's all a little rushed. Just booked a hire car so we are steadily getting ready for the trip! It's me and my girlfriend, who I have also turned into a coaster fiend. We're 28 and the main purpose of the trip is to do the main coasters, with a bit of time to do places like EPCOT if we have time. So Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios, Universal/IOA and Busch Gardens and the ones we want to hit up. As well as taking in a bit of Miami and the Keys. I am searching for accomdation for the moment, just trying to find something at the right price, unfortunately as much as I would like to stay at Disney it's out of my price range. Is there a ticket that gets you into all non-Disney parks for a fixed price for seven days? I think I remeber seeing something, but can't seem to find it online at the moment. Will probably go for a 5 or 6 day Disney ticket, then try and give each of the other parks one day each. Does that sound do-able? The ones I want to do most are: Expedition Everest Montu Dragons Challange Hulk Tower of Terror (Ok technically not a rollercoaster) Cheeta Chase Hope that gives a better indication of who we are and what we want Rob
robbalvey Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) ^ Are you sure a place like Epcot doesn't interest you more? It's by far my favorite park in Orlando and there isn't a roller coaster to be had there! Anyway, it looks as though you have some time for your trip and this is would I would recommend if you can do it: 4 Days Disney (do more if you want time to do the water parks, downtown disney, etc, or if you guys are Disney fans) 2 Days Universal 1 Day SeaWorld (Hit Fun Spot at night and ride White Lightning) 1 Day Busch Gardens Even if you're not big "Disney fans" those are some pretty big parks to do and if you've never been here I'd strongly recommend having a day (if not a bit more) at each. For the non-Disney parks, look into the Flex Ticket. That will also get you a water park or two if you're interested. Link: http://www.mousesavers.com/orlando-flexticket/ For the Disney ticket, I'd probably book it pretty soon so you can get everything linked up online and start booking for FastPasses for your visit ahead of time. Hope that helps a bit. Edited April 7, 2014 by robbalvey
