pdcon
Me and my wife will be taking our annual vacation to the new york area this year, From Sept 17-27. So I need your locals help. what are the must do's or must see's? We are planing to go to the yankees and Mets game because they are playing our beloved Giants while we are there. But other than the we are doing the normal touristy stuff. central park, times square, 911 memorial, etc. We also plan on going to great adventure while we are there, is one Sunday enough using a flash-pass? Also what else do you guys recommend we do in or around New york area? Theme park and and non theme park suggestions would help a lot.

larrygator
I'm not sure when Fright Fest is starting but if September 22nd is prior to the start it should be a good day to visit crowd wise. I always like to suggest people visit the Cloisters, a unique museum in north Manhattan. The great thing about New York is that there is a museum for practically everything http://www.ny.com/museums/all.museums.html I just finished a Graduate School Math course and the instructor was visiting from Houston and he was very excited about visiting the Museum of Math. tge98
You will enjoy citi field. I personally like it better than Yankee stadium. If you want a burger you must go to Keith's grill in the left field corner. Easily one of the best burgers i have ever had

larrygator
I know there is more people out there that can help me. What about reasonably priced hotels? New York's a big spread out city. Do you plan to drive everywhere, or are you planning to take advantage of mass transit. Do you need to stay in Manhattan? Prices fluctuate a lot so definitely comparison shop. Out goes without saying, the further you are away from Manhattan and the airports, the better deals can be more easily found. Keep in mind if you have a car that many Manhattan hotels charge per day for parking and this doesn't always show up until after you book on checkpoint travel sites.
