CookieMagoo Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Hello all, Long time follower but a new poster obviously. I just made my first ever trip to the east coast and have enjoyed SFA and SFGA. Going to Coney Island today most likely. So anyway, I was at SFA on Monday and while at hurricane harbor I rode the side by side orange and green slides. Sorry, I forgot the names of the slides. Anyway I noticed that the support structure for the slides was from some sort of wooden rollercoaster. The vertical supports are definitely from a woodie and directly under the slides there were two sets of 2x4's stacked 5 high (minus the wider top two boards that the trains run on) running the length of the support structure. I KNOW this is woodie structure!!! I've checked RCDB and Wikipedia but to no avail. Does anyone know what this woodie was or have any other information about it? Thanks in advance, Cookie
jjune4991 Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 I'm pretty sure it's just the normal support structure for the slides. Adventure Islands has slides that have that wooden support structure as well.
ernierocker Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 So, you thought there used to be a wooden coaster there, they took the track off, and plopped down water slides on top? Nope, just the structure those type of slides use like the above poster just said.
BigBomer Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 They belong to the New for 2014, Wooden Aquatrax that they've kept of the down low, you have a keen eye my sir.
CookieMagoo Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 OK, well it's the only support structure like that in the water park that I saw so I have a hard time believing that it's standard or normal. I wish I had a picture of it... Cookie
