Spring Break Trip to Tampa

Recommended Posts

For Spring Break this year, my family and I decided to head to Tampa. Knowing that there are members on this forum that live in the general area, I thought it would be appropriate to ask the locals about the best places to visit, shop, dine, etc.

Our current plan is to arrive on Saturday, April 6, and leave the Friday after. We know that a must will be Busch Gardens and a trip to Disney and Orlando in general.

My questions for the locals:

1) Will that time of year be a good one in terms of crowds and coaster lines?

2) What would be the recommended plan of attack in order to hit all the coasters at BGT in one day?

3) Would a trip to SeaWorld be worth it?

4) Where would you recommend that I go for food at any park?

Thanks guys!

1. You'll still have some spring break crowds but you're missing the biggest weeks which are the last two of March and first of April.

2. That won't be a problem. Start with Cheetah Hunt, then go Gwazi, Kiddie, Sheikra, Kumba, Scorpion, Whatever they're calling the Wild Mouse, Montu. If it's crazy busy the day you're there, grab a Quick Queue. It's not prohibitively expensive and will be awesome if you want re-rides and more rides!

3. That's up to you. There are certainly tickets you can buy for Sea World and Busch Combo that will help out. They have two big B&M Coasters that consistently rank well, but if you're not into sea life or those B&M's...well, it's really up to you. Sea World is about 60 minutes exactly from Busch Gardens.

4. Busch and Sea World are both pretty much known for their BBQ offerings more than any other type of food so if you like that, I would stick with it. They used to have good Italian but not so much in the last five years or so.
