[K'nex] My Custom K'nex Coasters

Recommended Posts

I can't really make good K'nex coasters, BUT, my brother sure can, so this is a thread dedicated to our creations.

Pictured below is Golden Dragon our latest (and only) coaster, the pictures were made with a 3DS camera, so don't expect anything special.

Just saw this. Cool dude! I like it, especially the last shot. I really like the drops. I used to have a K'nex coaster...

Can't wait to see more.

Thanks, my brother is working on making it longer, I might use my older brothers canon for the newer pics, the problem is that getting these pictures onto a computer is a long process, so it might take awhile.

I would definately check out SSCoasters.net if you want to get into model coaster building. There are a large number of guides to improving your K'nex coasters. These look to be a good start but lack a lot structually and design wise. These problems can easily be fixed with a little practice. I'd love to see something slightly more realistic from you in the future with a better support structure. You may need to invest in getting a few more sets though.

^ We havn't really finished it yet, we have loads more track by the literal bucketful at our use, so we don't need to invest more, and I will show my brother SScoasters, hopefully he takes those recomendations seriously, because every time I show him a realistic layout he gives up. We're currently working on making the transitions smoother, and making the first launch alot slower and the post-launch hill smaller to show some difference in height and a smoother transition into the lift we plan on adding. We're also working on the support structure, which my brother was REALLY lazy with. I only did half of the first hill, which was meant to be the full hill, which you may notice had a whole lot better support structure than the rest of the ride, which my brother made. To close off, thanks for the recommendations!

So, my brother made a new coaster, another launcher, that we themed after Chemical Plant Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog 2. I added theming and a station, and it looks pretty cool. Much better photo quality this time, so on with the photos!

Okay, the quality isn't too much better, but it's still better.

Cute little tiny station.

I added a lever that would stop the train at the station, it doesn't look that cool, but it works.

Theming, that I drew, it's the tubes from the actual level.

Looking more at the name, it sounds like the ride is about a tree, but it's the only cool sounding name I could think of.

Corkscrew, yay. And that's all the photo's I have, goodbye and happy late Independence Day.
