BACKYARD_HERO Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Hi I am planning a trip to the USA (from Australia) and hitting some theme parks is a must. I will be in New York for a bit over a week 2 May - 11th May and i was planning to hire a car for 2-3 days and drive to Hershey Park and Six Flags Great Ad my question's are you able to see these parks in a day each or would i need longer, i am mainly going for the roller coasters and it will be just a Friend and myself, so we wont really be interested in kids rides etc. Also would you have any recommendation of accommodation, other thing to do while in the area or a better trip idea ? Thanks
SharkTums Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 That time of year should be fine for hitting up those parks one day each. If it's crowded, both parks offer a skip the line type system that you can purchase to get even more rides in!
BACKYARD_HERO Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 thanks for the reply i was planing on getting a flash pass for six flags already, do the parks tend to be any more crowded with them only opening on weekends at this time of year ?
SharkTums Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 ^Sometimes, but not as bad as a normal summer day or Halloween Event day.
BACKYARD_HERO Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 Thanks for the advice, does anyone know of the best places to stay around Jackson/ Hershey ?
screaminkid2005 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 There really isn't a ton of places right next to Great Adventure. I remember there being a Days Inn about 10-15 minutes from the park. From what I remember it was pretty decent, but the last time I stayed there was in 2005. Also if you wanted to meet up, A day trip to Great Adventure is always possible for me. I can help you navigate the park so theres no need for flash pass! =]
BACKYARD_HERO Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 A meet up sound like a great idea ill let you know closer to my trip
