Devilstrip
Hi Robb, You've helped me identify a couple of coaster cars that I collected. Now I'm in need of more help from your members. I've decided to open a small, private "museum" in Canfield, Ohio. Private, in the sense that I'm funding this museum, but I'll show the contents to the public. The focus of the museum is Idora Park (closed 1984) of Youngstown, Ohio. I have acquired some important parts of rides that are actually from Idora Park and also parts of rides that are of the type that Idora had. I call the latter "Idora-like". So far I have a front coaster car from the Wildcat, rear coaster car from the Jackrabbit, one of the three Rocket Ships, three cars from the Caterpillar, a Tilt-A-Whirl car, both 12' Nutcracker Soldiers from Kiddieland, the Kiddieland Train and track, and more, as well as several Idora-like ride parts. I'm looking for more Idora and Idora-like items. I've put together a list, and maybe some of the TPR members might know of a ride car, cage, or seat from one or more of these rides. I live in Northern Virginia, but travel often to Northeast Ohio (Youngstown/Canfield) via Rt 70 and Rt 76 past Pittsburgh. I can travel to pick up some items. Im not running a buy & sell business. I buy, but I don't sell Idora items. Anyway, thanks for your attention and here's what I'm looking for (Happy New Year to All): Here is a list of some of the cars or seats from Amusement Park/Carnival Rides that I am looking for. I’m not looking for the entire ride, just the cage, or seat, or car from the ride – the object that the passengers sat in. I'm also looking for several of the large fiberglass animals that Idora Park had (dinosaur, rabbit, rooster, elephant, etc...): Scrambler Seat/Car Rock-O-Plane Cage/Seat/Car Flying Coaster Seat/Car Flying Cages Car/Cage Paratrooper Seat/Car Sky Diver Seat/Car Octopus Seat/Car Turtle Ride Seat/Car Trabant Seat/Car Orbit Seat/Car Kiddie Ride Tub Older parts of rides from Kiddieland Old Amusement Park and Carnival Signs Thanks. firewalk13
Best wishes on your endeavor! Wish I could've made it to the park though I would've been a wee bairn. I'm not too far from Canfield, would be very cool to see what you've put together some day. Cheers!

GayCoasterGuy
Very cool stuff! Hope you find everything you are looking for and then some. A friend of mine (back in the 80's!) used to tell me the story about the broken rib he got on Wildcat's deadly fan curve. I have a re-print of Wildcat's blue prints in storage somewhere. There were very simple prints back then (3 pages); one layout, one profile and one for track and brake detail.
