OCaml Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Hey guys! Long time TPR reader (probably since I was 10 or 11 - I'm 19 now, for reference), first time poster. Now, as a native Floridian, I made my roller coaster bones at Disney / Universal / Busch Gardens. Thus, I don't really need any advice concerning the parks. However, I'm taking my first ever road trip up to Islands of Adventure with a couple of friends. Since this is really my first time going there without my family or a school field trip, I have a question specifically in regards to the road trip. What are some good places to eat in the Orlando area? I'm deliberately trying to avoid places like Mythos, as good as they may be; I'm hoping for under-the-radar restaurants. Thanks in advance!
OCaml Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks! The place looks delicious, and the prices look fair. Any other suggestions from anyone?
dj snow Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 Oh, you might want to check on whether Sloppy Taco Palace is strictly 21+ - I honestly do not know, but it's as much a bar as a taco place so it's worth investigating before you make the drive over there. In general I suggest staying away from the I-Drive area unless you love Ponderosa.
OCaml Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 As much as I love steak, it's probably out of the budget for a college student road trip. I'll call up Sloppy Taco Palace and ask about the age limit.

Deli subs made right in front of you, coffee, freshly made smoothies, and made in store milkshakes to name a few specialties. And it's surprisingly good. Here's their menu- http://www.wawa.com/WawaWeb/Freshfood.aspx And Orlando locations- http://www.wawa.com/WawaWeb/FloridaFutureLocations.aspx You can ask any Mid-Atlantic resident on here. Wawa is a great stop for a quick and easy lunch.
cfc Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I've never understood the infatuation with Wawa. Yeah, their sandwiches are OK, but you're still buying a gas-station sandwich.
