A.J. Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Hey guys! So, I'm probably just going to purchase an iPhone for my video production purposes; a lot of the samples I have seen of its video quality are up to my standards (720p max), and I won't have to carry around a dedicated video camera. So, my second question is - what video-production software do you use and/or recommend for video productions? I like the feature sets of the big ones like Final Cut Pro X and Premiere, but they're kind of expensive. As you probably already know, I have a Macbook Pro. Some background - I'm only going to have one feed (whatever camera I end up using), and shots would be placed one after the other, with transitions. I also plan on having background audio and voiceovers. Finally, I will most likely be having sections of text moving in and out.
Meteornotes Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 iMovie would probably work for you. Or (and I'm not sure if there's a Mac version of this or not) Premiere Elements. dt
Angry_Gumball Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Being a Premiere guy, I was actually amazed by Premiere Elements and how much 'alike' it was to it's bigger brother. It's a pretty solid program considering the demographic it's aimed for. Can't say much for iMovie since I've never used it other than what I have on my iPhone.
BillyTalent Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 For a Mac Final Cut is very good, but you can just use any of them. I use Sony Vegas and while they can be really expensive there are always others ways For my final results I use Staxrip. I guess you could even use Windows Movie Maker to just make a raw movie and then render it with Staxrip, at least that is what I do with Sony Vegas and Staxrip.
A.J. Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 Yeah, I've used iMovie before and I really like how easy it is; the only thing I don't like is how it compresses video when you export it, even at the maximum setting it still ends up looking grainy compared to the raw video.
