coastercrazy 9 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 (edited) This project is pretty unique. It started as one of my first coasters, and I abandoned it. I came back to it about a month ago, reworked the elements, made them smooth, and I am trying to remake a first for me. It smoothly runs four trains, all of different colors. Hope you enjoy! On a side note, fire away with criticism, I need it. ALL COMMENTS APPRECIATED! Edited April 9, 2012 by coastercrazy 9
coastercrazy 9 Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 Really small update for today, I really need your input. Do you like the supporting on the turn, or do you think it is too much?
coastercrazy 9 Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 I don't mean to beg for comments, but I am not very good at No Limits, and I can't get better unless I know what I'm doing wrong.
molemaster43 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 I don't play No Limits, so that might affect my answer, but I think it looks pretty good.
coastercrazy 9 Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 I'm thinking about a color change, any ideas? I was thinking something along the lines of Red-Blue-Black combination of track, supports, and walkways. I'm open to any opinions.
molemaster43 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I think black supports and blue track would look pretty nice, but that is just me. Your coaster, you can do whatever you want.
coastercrazy 9 Posted April 14, 2012 Author Posted April 14, 2012 I used a new color scheme, and I think it works. Another thing that I added other than supports was that since it was Rise... To The Clouds, I made the tops of the tallest elements white. Hope you like it! New Supports on this gigantic overbank! In the clouds... New Supports at the bottom of the overbank. Top hat, with the Lightning train! Thanks For Viewing!
coasterlover420 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Welcome to NoLimits! It's a pretty crazy program as I'm sure you'll learn. My few opinions are as follows: -I like the blue/white track. It's definitely better than the yellow loop on Green Lantern at SFGAdv...however the green and yellow trains are kinda weird. I would have maybe a darker shaded color just to compliment the supports better. -The supports on the top hat do not look supportive at all. It looks ready to fall to the side. I would consider supporting both sides individually like Xcelerator or supporting the entire top hat as one tower like Top Thrill Dragster. -Also, a lot of your supports have the joints really far from the track. A helpful tool people use is called the 'tunnel test' where you add a tunnel to the segment with a support and you can see how close you can get to the track without having clearance issues with the train. See here: The images on the right are much more sturdy and consolidated. Here is the tunnel test. As you can see, this coaster actually fails in this spot because the support goes through the tunnel. This is a good way to tell if your supports get too close to the track, but also a good way to tell if they are too far from the track. 123tunnel-120414185226001.bmp I hope this helps!
coastercrazy 9 Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Thanks for the info! Supporting is the main thing I am trying to work on, I'm not very good at it.
coastercrazy 9 Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Quick update... I will most likely not post another update next week because I have end of year testing for school. Just letting you know.
