sfgamguy Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Hello All, The name is Martin Dale, entrepreneur and buisness man, but also a person with a dream. A dream that I will finally be able to achieve. As a child, I always enjoyed amusement parks and visited many. My favorite park was Coney Island and my favorite coaster was The Beast at KI. I grew up with the dream of building my own park and being able to choose the rides I put into it. The next thing you know I was in college, got a job, started a family, and now I have a beautiful wife and two kids. Anyways back to my point, the last few years have been good to me and I have saved up a hefty amount of cash. I've decided to follow my dream of building and owning an amusement park. Now you might ask, what about you wife and kids? Well the answer to that is, they're all for it. My wife is amazing and will follow me through anything and my son, a member of the site, is an avid rollercoaster enthusiast and was estatic to hear about my desicion. I'm not quite an expert at this stuff so I asked my son for help and he said I should bring the situation to TPR, so here it goes. Having grown up in southern IL, it has always been a special place in my heart and when I came back this winter to visit family I noticed a large plot of farm land was up for sale. I couldn't possibly let the opportunity pass and over the next few months I discussed it with my wife and she allowed me to acquire the land. She is also from southern IL and had wanted to move back near her family. We bought the property and now I'm here, were currently staying with our family but are planning to build a house on the land. So here is the situation I have 75,000 dollars to start up the park, what should I build in it? We have a budget of $50,000 for the first year. Any Ideas? What are the essentials of a park? Here is a photo of the front of the lot. Easy Beginnings.bmp Easy Beginnings Entrance.bmp Someday Parents and Children will walk through these gates.
PriestofSyrinx Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 How about calling up GCI and getting one of those "Big Fun" roller coasters they were showing at IAPPA? I would like to see one of those get built at this park, especially since it can be built on the cheap. Then you'll have more budget for landscaping, shops, flats, payroll! I want to see where this park goes...
