scottjenkins Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Bonjour! I'm planning a two week trip to the good old U S of A in September 2012 and have decided on visiting Ohio to get a few days in Cedar Point. I'm just curious as to what I can do after that....at the moment I'm thinking maybe visit Kings Island then fly from Ohio to Virginia and get BGW done. Can anyone offer advice on firstly, best time of year to visit CP, don't wanna travel all that way and queue for hours and secondly, can anyone think of any other park around that area I could fit into my vacation. This is my first trip to America outside of Florida and am literally buzzing with excitement! Thanks folks Scotty J
cfc Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 (edited) You could easily visit Kings Dominion, too--it's only a little over an hour's drive from BGW (just north of Richmond off I-95). If you do come to this part of Virginia, I recommend flying into either Richmond or Newport News/Williamsburg. If you're not renting a car, Richmond has better shuttle service to Williamsburg, but Newport News is closer. Be advised that roundtrip shuttles from Richmond to Williamsburg cost a little over $60; a cab ride from Newport News to Williamsburg is around $50 one-way. Another factor: Since you're planning on visiting in September, both parks will be open Friday-Saturday only, and KD might be closed for coporate buyouts for some of that month. Haunt and Howl-o-Scream usually begin late in the month. Edited September 22, 2011 by cfc
