edit - not sure what happened with the spacing but when I try to edit the post, the spacing looks correct but it doesn't look right when the posted. Any time I try to fix the spacing, it seems to mess up the spacing for something else in the post. Sorry about that.

I decided to take a trip to Morey's today since it is the end of summer

vacation and wanted to get one last park in before school next week.

I got to Mariner's Landing at 3 p.m., and opted for the all ride wristband. First ride of the day was the bumper cars. It took forever for the ride to start because they only had 1 op for the entire ride. After that we

went to Pirates of Wildwdood. It was something different but the 3D

effects didn't work too well and the ride was very short with a slow

moving line due to the low capacity boats (only 2 - 4 people a boat).

Next up was Sea Serpent, the parks boomerang. I had never been on a boomerang before so wasn't sure what to expect. After a 2 train wait

I boarded the car in the middle of the train. Going up the lift backwards

was strange and I didn't like how it felt like you were being pushed

against the restraint. I didn't really like the cobra roll as my neck

hit the restraint. I also didn't like going backwards at all. I figured

I needed to try the ride because I had never been on any coaster that

went backwards and never had been on a coaster with an inversion other

than a loop. Even with a 1 train wait when I got off the ride, I had

no desire to ride again. After the Sea Serpent we headed over to Wild

Wheels Pier deciding to skip the Rollie's Coaster because of the low

capacity (4 seat cars) and a line that looked to be over 20 minutes.

The one ride I wanted to try more than any other was Great White so that

is where I went first. The pier had just opened about 15 minutes before I

got there (it opens at 4 p.m. while the other 2 piers open at 12:30 p.m.).

I noticed the line was out of the station which wasn't a good sign. When I

got in line, I realized the line looked so long because people didn't realize

you could walk around the people waiting for the front and that the station itself wasn't crowded at all. After a 3 train wait, I took a seat again in the middle of the train. The drop out of the station was great and a nice surprise. The first drop also was good and there were spots all over the ride that gave air time. I was really surprised by this coaster expecting

it to be just another wooden coaster. I think it's one of my favorite wooden coasters now. I then decided to take another ride before the line got too long. This time I sat in the last car, front row. The air time was even greater in the last car. I would have just stayed at Great White the rest of the day but I had a limited amount of time so I decided I had to move on.

Next up was some labyrinth. It was a little complicated but what ruined it was there were too many people in there. You could tell which paths led to nowhere by seeing people walking in the opposite direction. After that, I headed to the original pier to get some more credits.

Once I got to the pier, the next ride up was The Great Nor'Easter. I have heard a lot of bad things about SLC's but having never been on any inverted coaster before I wanted to try it anyway. They were only running 1 train which I thought would cause a long line but there was only a 2 train wait. I was a little nervous going up the lift hill but once we got to the drop I was ok. It seemed like the ride was over so fast with there being inversion after inversion. I didn't think the ride was that painful and actually liked it. I plan to try to get to a park with a B&M inverted coaster next month (either Hershey or Dorney) so I can compare and see if I like those more.

It was 5:20 p.m. at this point so I decided I wanted to get another credit before I left. I headed over to the Doo Wooper which is a wild mouse. The line wasn't too bad at about 10 minutes. It was probably the most boring wild mouse I have ever been on with too many brakes (especially before the first drop). After that I went to the giant slide and they were only running 1 slide (yet there were about 12 slides). After waiting way too long for a 10 second slide, I decided to finish off the day at the log flume. The wait was about 15 minutes but it was worth it. For a non Disney log flume, the ride was really long. There were 2 nice sized drops and an underground part of the ride that takes you under the Doo Wooper. According to Morey's site, the ride is 7 minutes long but I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate or not. The only other coaster on the pier was the Flitzer but the line looked to be at least 20 minutes long because the cars only hold 1 - 3 people. I have been on the Flitzer at Ocean City, NJ and I think they should call it brake run the ride, because the whole ride seems to be braked and slows down any time you pick up any speed. I didn't think it was worth the wait so I left.

Overall, I had a great day at Morey's Piers and it was even more exciting since I had a chance to try some new types of coasters. I hope to go back next year and get the credits I missed and go on some flats which I didn't have the time for today.

Ahhh The Sea Serpent...where I popped my coaster cherry..LOL.

Yes going backwards up that lift hill is a bit odd...if you think the middle is bad, try back row. You basically are sitting forward in the restraint. With as many problems as that ride has had over the years, that is scarier than the drops. Best thing to do, brace yourself in the car. Backwards is 10x better though. A classic coaster that I am surprised is still standing after all these years considering all the problems it has had with "accidents"

Great White is an awesome wooden. Good air time. Nice drops. Good view of the beach. Its one of my all time fav wooden coasters. Looking forward to getting on this one again.

NorEaster I agree is short. But then again, it also is in a small space. Fun ride. Was also my first inverted. I rode it opening day. I also rode it the day after they re-opened it after it took a workers head off. Kinda Creepy. The ride got 10x better after they added the pads to the head area to prevent headbanging.

Rollies Coasters is OK. DooWopper Sucks. Flitzer used to be great, but is showing its age, hence all the braking. In all my years of going to the boards, I have never seen more than 3 slides open at the Giant Slide. Always a fun ride though. The log flume though has always been great. Hopefully it stays around for a good long time.

Nice report.

I didn't know there were all those accidents with the Sea Serpent. I'm glad I didn't know about it until know though since I was already worried about it valleying in the cobra roll and since there are no steps on that model I was concerned if it did valley I could be stuck there for hours. Knowing there were accidents would have made me a little more nervous to try it.

Yes the Serpent has had many accidents. It has gotten stuck in the valley a few times and I also saw it throw a wheel and get stuck in the track. There have also been numerous other accidents over the years. I used to refer to that ride as a death trap..LOL.
