dubbis Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Just returned from Italy where we visited Mirabilandia and Gardaland. But at Gardaland we found ourselves a little confused about Fuga de Atlantide - is it a coaster or not? It's quite similar to the Mack water rides don't you think? So is there a solid definition for a Roller Coaster? Another example: compare the Intamin Half Pipe coaster with Zamperlas Disk-O. Can someone please shed some light upon this issue? Going up the lift hill, but is it a coaster...? First drop, and yes there's steel under the water.
Lamoure Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I would say no, because it hasn't a drop/curve/helix-element in it.? It's not a "Watercoaster" at coasterfanatics... hm
Mike Austin Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Everybody has their own rules about what counts, what doesn't, and how many a coaster counts as (Jeff Johnson, for examples, counts each seat on a coaster as a different credit, as every seat gives a different experience!). So, it's really up to you whether to count it or not. As for myself, I use the easy rule of if the ride's on RCDB (http://www.rcdb.com), I add it to my coaster credit list!
cfc Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 (edited) This topic has been covered pretty well over in the "Ask Alvey" section: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35963#p392923. Thank you. Edited September 23, 2010 by cfc
