downunder Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 I have been to LA a few times but I have never used the public transport. What is it like, is it safe - in particular the trains (if that's what you call them)? I am staying near the airport so I was going to use it to get to Knott's and Disney. Getting to Magic Mountain (alas the day after the TPR meet) by public transport looks impossible.

I think there might be a stop or two in OC .. but most of the train I saw was next to 405 and down 105 through Compton ... I know you can do buses to DLR and Knotts. To SFMM .. prolly imposisible. Taxi or better yet, rent a car.
gisco Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 When I was in LA last year staying across from the DLR they had information on tours to all the sights in the LA area. I know uou could get a bus to pick you up at the motel, take you to Magic Mountain and then bring you back. The only problem is your on there schedule for leaving and returning. I did a search on LA TOURS and there are a number of sites to check out. Here is one that offers tours http://www.los-angeles-tours.us/ If you don't want to go that route, rent a car
