Calling all dare devils. If you’re a thrill seeker, you’ll want to be sure to check out Wisconsin’s first tree-top zip lining adventure, spanning nearly 2,500 feet. The Wilderness Canyon Zip Line Canopy Tour, created by Experience Based Learning (The premier builder of zip line courses in the United States), opens April 3-11 and weekends starting April 17 at the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, America’s Largest Waterpark Resort, in Wisconsin Dells. The zip line will be open daily starting Memorial Day weekend.

The zip line experience allows guests to plunge from six towers that rise above the Dells’ famous Lost Canyon with depths of up to 55 feet, making some of the zip lines 115 feet above ground level. The five zip lines run 356 feet, 314 feet, 488 feet, 426 feet, and 907 feet, totaling more than 8 football fields in length combined! Participants can reach heart-pumping speeds of up to 25 mph on the lines depending on conditions.

Anyone wanting to give the zip line a try must be between 70 and 270 pounds. It costs $45 for Wilderness Resort guests and $65 for the general public. Reservations must be made by calling Wilderness Resort at 608.253.9729 ext. 4764 between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tours, which run daily, dependent upon the weather, consist of up to 10 people and two guides. They take approximately two hours to complete, and include a mandatory pre-zip safety briefing. All children, who meet the appropriate weight requirements, need to be accompanied by an adult at the drop-off and pick-up points, and they must also have a signed permission slip.

The Wilderness Territory, which consists of over 600 wooded acres in Wisconsin Dells, is the perfect destination for a fun-filled family vacation, meeting or special event. The Territory is home to Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, which features 444 guest rooms, 40 vacation villas, 76 Frontier Condominiums and 35 cabins. It is also home to Wilderness on the Lake which features 108 luxurious two and three bedroom condominium units overlooking Lake Delton; and Glacier Canyon Lodge, which features 460 upscale condominium units.

Combined, these three properties offer four indoor and four outdoor waterparks that total nearly 500,000 square feet – that’s over 12 football fields of extreme water fun! The Territory is also home to Wild Rock Golf Club; The Woods 9-Hole Family Course; three mega arcades; Timberland Play Park, a 35,000 square-foot, four story adventure with ball blasters, slides and crawl spaces; the OK Corral Lazer Tag Arena; three indoor 3-D black light mini golf courses; Bumper Boats; Tombstone Town Haunted Hotel and Mineshaft Mirror Maze; Go-Karts and Kiddy-Karts; and outdoor Jurassic mini golf.
