DBru Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Gargantuan is a gigantic wooden roller coaster, modeled after (but improved upon) some of the large woodies of the 1990's. The coaster tops out at 156 feet and reaches speeds of up to 65mph. More than 10 moments of airtime are experienced along the 5,514 feet of track, which is sure to provide the ride of your life. The structure is truly massive. There is nothing small about this ride. Comments/rates are greatly appreciated! Gargantuan.nltrack Enjoy!
Sasquatch Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Good - HUGE!!! - Mostly very smooth - Realistic-ish layout - Very 90s/RCCA Nicht so gut - Station times are horribly unrealistic! - Having a third train using up the MCBR before the ride even begins is not a good idea - Some supports are inadequate - Some small pumps and bumps, but no big deal - Perhaps some of the end sections could have been more compact to increase forces? I really liked this, I want more!
DBru Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 Thanks for the review, Sasquatch! -Having a third train using up the MCBR before the ride even begins is not a good idea I have gotten this comment a couple of times so far, and I was just wondering...what is wrong with this? If you ride that train, it still provides a speedy return run with lots of airtime and aggressiveness...
Sasquatch Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 The thing is that if a dispatch were to be delayed, which so often happens, then a train would have to stop on the MCBR which would then be a pain in the ass for the riders. Also, if you used two trains that were in the station for 90 secs each, you would still have a very good capacity! And, for safety reasons, you need to have as much space as possible between trains so that should there be an emergency, there is always at least 2 sets of brakes to stop the train, which comes in handy should one fail! FAIL!! Hope this helps!
Brookes Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Wow this was great! Good points Pretty much perfectly smooth all the way, except for a couple of turns near the end Great layout Massive Good pacing Bad points Not a lot really, only thing is maybe some of it could have been taken at a better speed to increase force, but that wasn't really a big issue Overall great, 9/10
