I just wanted to state that your remark on Cedar Point not opening rides up in the evening that were down all day is way off. At my home park of SFoG, that is definitely the case. After working at Cedar Point this summer, I can definitely say that when a ride doesn't look like it will open, the crew still stays for that off chance. Cedar Point is very good at getting their rides opened, if possible.

1) It really was a terrifically fun day. I didn't really know any of you guys well, and I was a little worried that there would be many moments with nothing to say and everyone looking awkwardly at each other, but in the end we talked and laughed so much it could have powered a small city.

2) Cameron (Everyone must exit all the way out the exit) Silver.

1) For the record, I started having fun maybe right around Steak 'n Shake in Michigan, but surely as soon as we both stepped out of our cars and greeted each other with Tim Tams.

2) I forgot about that one! Was that at American Eagle?

^Perhaps I was a little too harsh on CP. I have seen Raptor and TTD open up after being down for the first 7 hours or so before (not to mention EXTREMELY enthusiastic night crews on Raptor, MF and Gemini), but the many other times I've went (compared to this one visit to SFGAm) it just came off that the ops or maintenance crews didn't care all that much if the ride opened later on if they were already 6 or 7 hours after opening. Again, probably unfair, but it's just from personal experience. Plus the company's over-strict rain policy still irks me.

I've not really gotten the same positive "vibe" from CP employees in the past couple years as I had in the years before that, but when I visited Six Flags -- the chain which everyone seemed to bash for poor management -- it just floored me that everyone was so nice, helpful and loving their job. I'm a pretty friendly person, so if someone makes eye contact with me I say hello; at CP in the past couple visits I've frequently gotten sort of shrugs or odd looks back. At SFGAm, not only did everyone say hi to me when they made eye contact, but I had six custodians at the end of the night alone, from the back of the park to the entrance, wish me a great night with no prompting. As I work in a service job, that kind of attention just really made my day and kept up a positive atmosphere throughout.

Understood. I actually work Raptor. If you ever come by, look for me (Doug). I normally do everything I can to make sure everybody is enjoying their day at the park. Also, as for employees, I can agree with you about SFGAm. They definitely have the best Six Flags employees I have encountered...BUT after now knowing what we have to go through at Cedar Point, I can't put them ahead of us. I still haven't seen more cell phones from employees than at a Six Flags park. They aren't strict with that at all, but each morning we actually get "pocket checked" to make sure we don't have ours with us. Also, I find that the efficiency of our operations can't be topped. On Raptor, we always push each other to get as many people through the turnstiles as possible. Most of us actually love our job for more than the 7.30/hr. If you ride Raptor this year, especially since about two weeks ago when we really started to figure out how to move efficiently, our full queue wait time is now under 1hr 15min.

Really great news to hear, Doug. And I actually was on the lookout for all of the cell-phone employees at SF and again didn't find a single one. Interesting about CP's pocket check though, because now that I recall, employees on cell phones really ARE things I've never seen at Cedar Point!
