cmpunk771
I was thinking about going in the next 3 weeks before the schools get out in the uk, i was thinking about 2 days at Alton but should i stay at the Alton hotel? What perks are there? Is it worth getting a fastpass? Blackpool pleasure beach looks good but is it worth going to? Can it be done in one day? Is there a fast-pass? Can anyone recommend a hotel? Thanks in advance!
Groteslurf
BPB is absolutely worth the visit. I don't think there is a fastpass system in place at BPB. Fastpasses are always worth the price so in case the crowds are bad at AT, get one. I never stayed at the AT hotel, but it looks nice but it's also not that cheap. We stayed at a bed and breakfast near AT and drove from there to BPB for 1 day. It was only a bit more than an hour drive if I remember well. TPDave
I was thinking about going in the next 3 weeks before the schools get out in the uk Firstly, a lot of Schools have already broken up, the only ones still in session are comprehensives that don't have exams, so don't expect it to be too quiet. I was thinking about 2 days at Alton but should I stay at the Alton hotel? What perks are there? Both Alton hotels are very nice, obviously very near to the parks and have a couple of benefits like free parking and Early Ride Time for an hour before opening on a selection of the following rides: Oblivion Enterprise Mutiny Bay Duel Runaway Mine Train Haunted Hollow Rita: Queen of Speed Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE NOTE: An Annual pass will get you free parking and ERT. The hotels are expensive but very comfortable, the restaurants are nice and although the little show in the evening is very cheesy, it's something to do and trust me, there's not a lot going on in staffordshire so you'll be thankful for it! Is it worth getting a fastpass? As for a fastpass, you'll be there for two days, so I don't think it's necessary unless you want to get a ton of rides in. Blackpool pleasure beach looks good but is it worth going to? Blackpool is DEFINITELY worth going to!! Possibly my favourite park in the UK. The rides individually might not be that special, but the atmosphere and charm of the park is really nice, especially in the summer. Can it be done in one day? Although the big rides can be done in a day, you probably won't get through all the smaller attractions. You might even want to go to the other piers and maybe the tower so It could be worth two days if you want a full visit. Is there a fast-pass? There is no fastpass, but the actual Queue lines (Hi Lou! Who am I kidding you'll never read this!) are very short so the wait times for the rides never really get too long. I've never left Blackpool wishing they had a fastpass option. Can anyone recommend a hotel? You're probably better off going to a B&B in Blackpool since there are more of them that people. I stayed in this one last September and it was great! Hope you're trip goes well Dave

MattC
I would actually like to contradict some of what TPDave said. On hot or busy days BPB gets extremely busy and I left feeling somewhat fleeced with the lack of rides I managed to get on. I feel they would benefit greatly from a fasttrack system as their rides and their ops can be extremely slow to dispatch quite a lot of the time. The word from the Towers is AT is very busy right now but queues are only being pushed to a max on 120 mins for things like AIR that struggle on capacity fronts. I would recommend the Scream fastpass at AT with a Rita add-on. The Rita one is worth it and they must make a fortune selling them seperately. I think Scream offers 1 ride on AIR, Nemesis, Oblivion and also Flume I think. This costs £8 and with the Rita add-on it's £12. It's a reasonable price to pay to get onto the big 4 imo. cmpunk771
Oh, last time i wane this time of year and we got a ultimate fastpass i think, It gave us 1 ride on everything! I will do that or just ride the big rides when go in a hour early for staying at the hotel and when it gets busy go to the water-park! I may save blackpool for the off season
