carolinacaniac Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Hey everyone, I figured that since many people are taking the same approach as everybody's friend Big Mike, and putting all of their PTRs onto one thread, I thought I would do the same this year with mine, as well as give any updates on my current plans for the year, or the upcomming future in case anyone would like to meet up sometime. The first one I will share is from the Season Pass Holder Preview day at BGE from March 22nd. Melissa and I went to check it out, not really having a particular agenda, other than going to see Jack Hanna's show if possible. The weather was very nice for the day, and we got a ride on each of the coasters, with a second ride on Griffon and Alpengeist, as well as a ride on DarKastle. We had another good meal courtesy of Das Festhaus, and it was a great way to start the 2009 season! Most of the pictures I have follow Melissa and I, and not so many coaster pictures as I would normally take, but I have a good collection of pictures from Jack Hanna's show. So here are the pictures for your enjoyment. -Gary T. And that was the end of the show, which is the end of this report. I hope you guys enjoyed it. We will be at BGE several times this season, so if you spot either of us, don't be afraid to say hello!! I had never seen a flamingo before. And now, I present the animals of Jack Hanna's show...... We also got our picture with him as well. After we went to see the characters, we decide to check out Jack Hanna's show. He was out signing a lot of autographs. Okay, so we can tell that Ernie is in his own world, Bert's all gangsta, and the Cookie Monster and Elmo are checking out Melissa. Now is it just me, or does Big Bird look like he is digging on me? Of course Melissa and I knew that we had to get our mugs with the SS crew too! See what I mean? I will bet that this place will be very popular, if the crowds for the Sesame Street gang is any indicator. Here we happend to catch Grover's Coaster making a test run. Another Signature Shot ......Comming Down. Going Up.......... Signature Couple Shot But of course Gary has to offer his greeting to the Leprechuan. ......while Gary asks if this girl had ever considered a career as a love doll. Melissa offers a friendly greating to the leprechuan....... Now that we have our passes, we are ready to go. Off of the tram, we caught a glimpse at the Alpine Tours of Grover. Will have to wait until April to ride, but we are headed back later in the month. Yeay!!!! Melissa is awake now! We can enjoy BGE together!! Off into the woods it goes! Can't wait to take another spin!! And once again, Garmin has shown us that we are within range of Apollo's Chariot! Now that I have my slurpee, I am good to go!!!! And the reason for this regular visit to 7-Eleven......The Slurpee!!! ......7-ELEVEN!!!!! Crossing the Bridge towards Hampton, always a good sign that we are going the right way, although there is one place I must always stop at when I visit VA......... One thing you can always count on Melissa to do on drives that are 30 minutes or longer.......SLEEP!!!! Here we see the Chowan River, as Melissa and I make our way up to BGE to start the 2009 season!!!
Electerik Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Hey everyone, I figured that since many people are taking the same approach as everybody's friend Big Mike, and putting all of their PTRs onto one thread, I thought I would do the same this year with mine, as well as give any updates on my current plans for the year, or the upcomming future in case anyone would like to meet up sometime. I've noticed that trend, too. I'm not sure how I feel about it, though. Maybe it depends on how frequent and close together one's travels are. Big Mike's really kind of seemed like one big trip (at least, at first). But I've seen some others who just seem to want their own ongoing thread, even if it's not really justified by the content. Anyway, sorry for the slight threadjack. Nice start!
