This is a trip I was planning to take last summer, but I was unable to...it's very small, as it just consists of the following:

Day 1

Drive from PA to Connecticut

Lake Compounce (planning to go whenever their 'twilight' discount kicks in)

Stay somewhere

Day 2

Six Flags New England

Drive home

I have a few questions:

1. Is LC worth a full day? Basically the only things I see that I want to do there are the coasters, the swing, the drop tower, the dark ride, and some other flats, and I'm thinking that I should be able to finish that in a few hours, with some time included for Boulder Dash re-rides. I was just checking to see if there's something I'm missing, or maybe long lines wouldn't permit such a quick run-through, etc.

2. Is Quassy worth visiting? I saw that it's pretty close to LC and considered heading over to steal a credit. Anything else there that's any good?

3. I was considering adding Rye Playland on the way home from SFNE since it's (sort of) in the way. Any thoughts on that? I know they have Dragon Coaster and the flyer, but not sure of anything else.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Last summer a friend and I were able to visit SFNE and LC in one afternoon. It all depends on how much time you want at each park but don't think you need a full day at LC. I would suggest a minimum of 5 hours there. We went on a Thursday afternoon in mid-July and both parks were pretty slow which allowed for walk-ons at S:RoS and a 5 minute wait (like 3-4 trains) for Boulder Dash. I recommend driving all the way to SFNE first and spending an entire day there first so you can get your fill of S:RoS re-rides. On day 2, go to LC for a few hours, stop at Quassy since it's DIRECTLY on the way to Playland and then stop by Playland before driving home. Playland can be done in less than 2 hours.

^I would do the opposite and go to Playland the first day for a couple of hours and arrive at Lake Compounce right when the Twilight special starts.

Then head to SFNE the next day.

Quassy is not worth stopping at unless you are just piling up coaster credits, nothing else of note at the park. Not even any good game in the arcade.

Ha. This brings back memories of my trip this past summer. We started out the day at SFNE. After the less than hour drive to Lake Compounce, we had to take a nap outside the ticket booths due to the fact that we got there about 90 minutes before the twilight special and knew we didn't need long at all. We then hopped in the car and drove to NYC to ride the Cyclone. That wouldn't work for your trip but I can definitely say that you don't really need more than two hours at Lake Compounce. There isn't anything special about the park itself, but Boulder Dash is INCREDIBLE.
