Looty Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Hello TPR, I'll be going abroad in 2010 and living in Arnhem, Netherlands. I most definitely want to visit as many parks in the Netherlands (and surrounding countries) as possible but have no idea as to how to get to them without the use of a car. I know that taking a train would be a good start so i am not worried about the whole train aspect at all. I am interested in learning how to get to the parks after I get off at the nearest train/bus stations. Any info regarding accessibility (easy or not so easy) to the parks near the Netherlands is greatly appreciated. Thanks
hyyyper Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Almost all the major parks in the Netherlands have a bus connection to the nearest station There is a site that gives you a route using only public transportation. It's a great site, but totally in Dutch. www.9292ov.nl
BasD Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Every park is reachable by public transport.. I can help you if you want, just PM me if you want to know how to come somewhere and I'll figure it out for you.. Parks to do are: Walibi World (Goliath), Toverland (Troy), Efteling (Overall atmosphere), Drievliet (Formule X), Duinrell (when they get their Gerstlauer) In Germany: Phantasialand (Black Mamba, Winja's) Europapark (Overall Atmosphere)
Erik_73 Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 All parks are offering a combination price for train/bus travel and park admission, so to get the lowest price it is advisable to visit the park websites. The bustop is at the park entrance Phantasialand Take train to Brühl Bahnhof From there the direct “phantasialant-shuttle” bus direct to the park entrance Europapark Take train to Bahnhof Ringsheim From there the direct “SBG shuttle bus” direct to the park entrance Moviepark Germany Take train to Bahnhof Feldhausen Walking distance from the train station to the park entrance is approx. 300meter Hollidaypark Take train to Bahnhof Hassloch From there the "Holiday Park-Bus Shuttle” bus direct to the park entrance Heide park Take train to Wolterdingen Bahnhof or Soltau Bahnhof From there the " Prüser Buses” bus direct to the park entrance Bobbejaanland Take train to Herentals From there the normal bus line 305 bustop is at the park entrance Walibi Belgium Take train to Walibi-Bierges Walking distance from the train station to the park entrance is approx. 150meter
Looty Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 ^Wow!...thanks a lot. That is helpful information indeed.
Looty Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 Wow!...I cannot believe how fast time has gone. I arrive in The Netherlands on January 20th for my semester. I definitely am looking forward to meeting a ton of people and enjoying the coasters that Holland (and the rest of Europe) has to offer. If any of you locals are looking for another ride buddy, be sure to PM me.
timberskara Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Since Matt has a really creepster avatar right now (seriously, dude, would YOU want to meet up with you in a foreign land?)...I thought I'd vouch that he's actually a fun, sane person to hit parks with. Definitely make him ride in the front on any water rides, though. Best of luck and take lots of photos! I'm so jealous.
hyyyper Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Good to see your settling in well and I hope you'll love it here. If you ever plan on going to Toverland (Troy!), drop me a pm Bas (btw, how is the Dutch coming along?)
