coasterfreak80 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 For the ACE sponsored event, Coasterfest, held at Dollywood on November 22, 2008. Rob (coasterbear30), Jamie (NINCUB), me (coasterfreak80) and our friend Scott drove up late Friday afternoon and met a friend of ours from Sevierville, TN in Gatlinburg for a night "out on the town". We hit a local hot spot, Puckers, and got the weekend off to a crazy start. Saturday morning, we awoke to 20 degree temperatures and a frosted over car. We then made our way across the street to an amazing pancake house (the name escapes me). See attached pictures. This place is famous for their selection of over 40 different pancake choices! It was freaking amazing, to be honest. We then headed to the park for check-in around 10; it had then reached a whopping 25 degrees. We made our way over to the ERT on Blazing Fury. This ride is already not a favorite of ours and, even more so that day because of being wet and cold. After ERT, the scavenger hunt documentation was passed out and the hunt began. Due to the weather, our free time in the park consisted mostly of waiting for the temperature to rise high enough for at least Thunderhead and Tennessee Tornado to open...at 35 degrees. This lasted for only about an hour before the temperatures plummeted again, causing all the coasters to close. Mystery Mine did not even open that day due to not reaching temperatures of 40 or more. That evening, we decided to upgrade to a season pass so that we could return to the park on Sunday. This was a great idea since Sunday's weather was much more enjoyable, reaching temperatures of about 50 degrees. Scott and Jamie were able to get their kiddie credit and we were able to ride the coasters repeatedly with very few lines. Enjoy the pictures and comments! Thanks for checking us out! Thanks to everyone at Dollywood! We love you guys! Scott and Jamie getting their kiddie credit. Never enough phallic symbols! How's it hanging, Rob? Low and to the left! Tower porn Tower Stroking Tower tongue tickler. Scott is a pickle kisser! Dollywood in all it's Christmas glory in the next few shots. Nom nom nom nom! Mmmmmm, fat boys love food! Jamie and Scott Good friends, good times! Dessert shots The Crew: left to right is Scott, Rob, Jamie and Scott BTW, it was freezing cold! Hawaiian pancakes Rob said: Peanut butter pancakes rock my face!
Shavethewhales Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Impressed and amazed by DW as usual. I just wish SDC would get their next coaster already so we could do this. How many of you were there for the whole event?
coasterbear30 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 There were about 110-120 people there for the event. I felt sorry for the people that didn't have the MM credit and didn't get to ride that day because it was so cold.
NINCUB Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 It's great to see these pix again! I had the best time ever with these "wild and crazy guys!" I'm ready for Thrills in the hills! Anyone else planning on going?
NINCUB Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Hey guys! Where are the pix from the scary bar from Friday Night?! I think those were hilarious!

The pictures were hilarious but we couldn't post them in order to protect the innocent. Basically, we couldn't post pictures of our friend without her permission.

I just love the crazy intoxicated bar pix! :0) I know Rob has mentioned opening day at SFOG so how many of the ATL peeps will be there that day? I think me and some of my peeps here in The Noog will be coming down that day.
