hyyyper Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 On a dutch forum, we were discussing our country's collection of rollercoasters. And while everybody had different opinions, every poiint of view was within the country's borders. So we came to the question what people from other country think about the coasters in Holland and it's themeparks. Are Goliath and Troy the only good things the Netherlands offer, or is there more. Or do you think Goliath and Troy are overrated. Please let us know. thank you, Bas
larrygator Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Troy and Goliath are both top notch coasters. I think I ranked both in my Top 20s in Mitch's poll. I also liked FormuleX atDrievliet, surprising fun for such a small coaster. I love the beauty of Efteling and Toverland is just such a fun place (especially on a TPR Trip).
robbalvey Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Might be good to give people a list of the major parks or parks with a major attraction in the Netherlands. Here are the ones I have visited: Drievliet Family Park Efteling Toverland Walibi World I put Goliath in my top ten steel and Troy was in my top 20 or 25 wood. While I personally think Efteling is a bit overrated, I did have a very good visit there in 2008. Drievliet is very much an "up and coming" small park with a great addition of Formule X. Walibi World I had some GREAT visits in 2002 and 2005, but this past year, other than Goliath I didn't find much else amazing at the park. Even Robin Hood, which I *loved* before fell from graces for me. And Toverland...well, that park just kicks all sorts of ass! IMO, there is *nothing* realy like it in the USA or many other parks like it in the world. Small, yes, but growing, and very unique. My favorite park in the Netherlands from my visit last year. --Robb
