joffs115 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Hi! I'll be visiting Florida from the 20/8/08 - 3/9/08 for a family holiday, staying on International Drive and I have a few questions. 1. Can you recommend any good restaurants and anything else good to do apart from visiting parks (I already have this covered ) in the area. 2. In this time, I'll be visiting WDW, US & IOA, Sea World, Busch, Aquatica and the Kennedy Space Centre (why, I don't know?!). How heavy will the crowds be? Thanks guys!
mcjaco Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Hmmm, on International Drive.....there's Ponderosa, The Sizzler. Depends where on I-Drive. There's plenty of places to eat. Mostly chains. There is a Buffalo Wild Wings, which is a must, if you haven't been. Crowds at that time of the year start to dwindle. You'll probably see less crowds at the end of your trip, as school will most definitely be back in session. It will be hot and humid. Be prepared!
joffs115 Posted August 5, 2008 Author Posted August 5, 2008 Thanks. I'm staying by the I Drive/W Sand Lake Rd junction if that helps? I'd like to try and avoid the chains and go for more of the nicer places to eat as well!
dragonskeep Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Make a short drive down I-4 and check out Del Frisco's. The best steak house in town IMO and located on Lee rd. Magical Midway has a huge Slingshot and the world's largest Star Flyer, both are pretty crazy. Fun Spot near Old Town Has a huge Sky Coaster, the single biggest thrill in the area. Lots of other stuff to do there too, go-karts, carnival type rides etc. If you like outdoors stuff take a day trip to Longwood and canoe down the Wekiva River. Wekiva state Park rents canoes and the river is beautiful. If you are afraid of alligators don't go because you will see them. Don't bother them and they won't bother you.
