ash.1111 Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 A boy was decapitated yesterday after being struck by the Batman roller coaster located at Six Flags Over Georgia. He was believe to entered the area to retrieve a lost item. The boy, believed to be 17 years old, was killed at approximately 2:00pm yesterday after climbing over two six-foot high safety fences placed around the Batman coaster. No one on the ride was reported as injured. Servel witnesses said the boy was going to retrieve a lost hat. A media source has said the boy was part of a church group visiting the amusement park. The victims family was with him during the accident. "We do not know this persons intent on gaining access to this restricted area, as multiple signs clearly state: 'Danger Zone', 'Do Not Enter', 'Authorized Personnel Only'," said in the statement from park spokeswoman Hela Sheth. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family," the Six Flags statement added. In May 2002, a park employee entered the same area under the Batman roller coaster and was killed when a he was struck in the head by a rider's leg.
