kris182_2000 Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 So today, we went up to get our discount passes my husband and I, and were pleasantly surprised to find the park open, but not to the general public. It was a bank day but they let us in. So, we decided to ride Behemoth for the first time. I have to admit that I was terrified riding it, but having a blast at the same time. So this is my review of the ride today. They moved a lot of things around in the area of Behemoth, and that made it more pleasing to be able to look at it. There's not much for landscaping as most of the coaster is on water, but it's not to bad. We sat at the very front of the ride, this is always the best place to sit, especially for your first ride ever. It makes the experience much more intense. The trains are very interesting to look at, they're extremely open and spacious. The restraints are comfortable, but not very flexible if you're small boned. This allows for a ton of wicked air time however. To be honest, this was the best coaster I've ever ridden, and I've only ridden at Wonderland. The lift hill is steep, you're looking straight up to the sky as you're going up. It's unreal. The trip up the lift is smooth, however, we were unfortunately enough to be slowed almost to a stop, like they were teasing us. It's a nerve wracking trip up the lift, especially if you've never gone so high before on a coaster. The view from the top is spectacular, you can see downtown Toronto nicely, and that's roughly 50km's from the park. When you look down at the top of the lift, it's unreal. The drop feels like it's straight down. You can feel your heart jump into your throat. The first drop is unreal. You speed down the drop at an amazing 125km/h in about 3 seconds. Then it's nothing but airtime when you crest the coming hills. The out and back curve is the highlight of this ride, just absolutely amazing to go through. More hills, and more airtime on these camelbacks. You hit the brake section before going into the helix, it's a smooth transition. The helix packs on the G's, but it's tolerable, and still very smooth. The rest of the ride is great, even heading into the last brake section is surprisingly easy on the train. The ride ops are awesome, they really know how to run this ride. They load very fast and get you on your way. The announcer was a very happy young lady who was quite cheerful and made everyone happy. She couldn't help but make you smile and make noise when she told you do. The entire ride is quite smooth, very comfortable, and a down right good ride. I'm glad we got to experience it before it got busy. This is our on ride photo, I'm screaming my head off, but my husband has a permanent smile on his face. The kids behind us were on their second ride of the day. This speaks for itself. The top of the immense lift hill. First airtime hill. Awesome and scary if you're not used to so much air time. Camelback. Another camelback. Brake section before the helix.
shesaidboom Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Did they make you guys pay for parking to go in and get your pass processed? Jer tried to get in today, but didn't want to pay the $10 parking on the chance he'd be turned away.
kris182_2000 Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 Yes we had to pay for parking, but they gave us a discount for our season parking pass as a result. Instead of it being $33.90, it was $21.99. Definitely worth it. Hard to find a decent spot though, there were a ton of cars there.(maybe it had to do with the TTC strike?)
