signal Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 I am trying to plan a trip to Cedar Point, but my parents can't decide whether to leave on a Thursday and get a Friday-Monday trip or to Leave Friday and get a Saturday-Tuesday Trip. The thursday is May 15th, and the friday is May 16th. If we were looking at lines and their sizes on Maverick, TTD, and MF, which days would be best to go. Its a 6 hour trip to get to Cedar Point by plane by the way.
carolinacaniac Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Id say Saturday-Tuesday. You may want to avoid friday as one of the days since it may get busier, and if it were possible I would say avoid Saturday, but I am guessing that may not be an option. In early may, Monday and Tuesday could very well be walk-on for many of the rides!
Carnage Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Well the Friday the park is open till 10, where as Mon/Tue it's only open till 7. So you could end up getting more in on the Friday then on Tuesday. The three extra hours could offset the increased attndance on a Friday versus a Tuesday. Also being in the park Friday/Saturday would give you two days with night rides. Sunday/Monday/Tuesday the park will be closing just as it starts to get dark. But really it's a crap shoot. Both Friday and Tuesday should be fairly empty. But Tuesday obviously less busy then Friday.
larrygator Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Luckily you will miss Thursday 5/15 which is Physics Day at CP. I would try to include Friday based on Paul comment about the operating hours. I've been there on a Friday night in mid-May and the crowds are not that bad. Don't forget to bring a sweatshirt/light jacket as it can get quite windy off the lake at night in May.
signal Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 Cool, thanks. I do have to consider the extra 3 hours on friday. Though we will have ERT time, I still think that may change something. I think we are staying at Castaway Bay, so maybe we can take saturday off, like you suggested
