yankees15 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I am planning on going to Hersheypark on Sunday 4/6/08. According to weather.com, it is supposed to be sunny with a high of 62 and a low of 43. Their website says basically the whole park will be open except Midway America and the Boardwalk. My question is, what can expect as far as crowds go? I am hoping for short lines so I can get multiple rides on my favorite steel coaster, Storm Runner. Does anyone from past experience know how the lines will be for Storm Runner and Great Bear? Thanks in advance!
YoshiFan Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I went in 2006 on a Saturday, the day before Easter. It was warm out and since admission was so cheap it was jammed. Storm Runner had a full queue and the line was overflowing onto the midway, Great Bear was 45 minutes, Sooperdooperlooper's line was down the stairs and into the switchbacks below (something I have never seen before), Comet's line was into 2 overflow switchbacks. It was horrible. I was planning to go last year on Easter Sunday since it's supposed to be dead on Easter but the 30's and high winds (with only Comet and SDL running), stopped me from going. Since it's not a holiday weekend, it may not be that crowded. Plus it's also Great Adventure's opening weekend which might take away some of the crowds.
Ccron10 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I plan on going the day before and this will be my first STITP trip. Don't always go by the site's ride list. Last year they opened Midway America since a few rides were down and they wanted to make up for them. But even though theres still a few pieces of construction equipment on the midway, they could still open the path going down there.
yankees15 Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 Thanks for the info guys! I really hope it isn't crowded like you said it was during your visit, YoshiFan. Both of my visits last year were ridiculously crowded and I want a light day at the park with many rerides. Anyone else who has attended this event I would much appreciate your input.
