This was an interesting read. After going back and re-reading the blog, it's seems the poster was rebuked for his narrow-mindedness over these public sculptures and playground decorations of decades past. Most were more humerous than anything, particularly the bamboo skewered alligator with all the knives and forks stuck in it.

 

The "bears" in the one park are a great example of functional and useful sculpture, with their light up eyes and built in warmers.

 

The real deal here is that the poster just didn't like the sculptures and tried to justify their opinion with a politically correct view. That's fine, and they're more than entitled to that opinion.

 

Much of this stuff is similar to what I played around as a kid, and it was just fine. If anything was dodgy, I wouldn't have been let on the playground.
