EricLovesTZTOT
Hi, I'm from France and plan to visit PKI, Cedar Point and Geauga Lake (+ La Ronde in Montréal) on spring 2006. I love empty parks and short lines though I look for the less crowded weeck to come in these parks on April, May or June 2006 (no school holiday, no bank holiday, no Ohio Holiday). Can you help me ? I'll be an American Coaster Enthusiasts member in few days and I would know if there are any discount in these parks ? What kind of discount ? I plan to stay 2 or 3 nights at one of the Cedar Point Hotel (may be at the Hotel Breakers), do you know a way to obtain great low season discounts ? Thank you in advance for your help... downunder
May is definitely a good month (especially weekdays) to go to Cedar Point though the weather may be a bit variable and it is wise to check on the Cedar Point website when there are events are on like School Physics days as they may be more crowded on those days. The resorts section on the Cedar Point website has a Coupons section which usually has a discount for Hotel Breakers for may/early june and late season as well. The cheapest rooms (2 only people rooms) at hotel breakers are $60 a night but I would recomend getting in early to get those. I scored one of those rooms for my visit at the end of August this year and I will get an additional $20 a night off that price as well with a coupon. I don't know if there are ACE discounts on admission tickets but for three days the best option would probably be a season pass. I will probably go to La Ronde when I am Canada this year but I have no idea what it will be like.
disneygurlz2s
Hi Eric, I'll be happy to give you some advice..... First of all, be advised that these parks do NOT operate on weekdays until around Memorial Day weekend, which is the last full weekend of May. PKI is weekends only beginning about the second weekend of April. CP and GL probably don't begin weekends that early, because they are 300 miles north and up near the lake where it can stay too cold for coasters into May. There are always good pre-season discounts, but most are tied to local stores/fast food restaurants/etc, so you may have to wait until you get over here and then check with the individual parks. Of course, Cedar Point and Geauga Lake are both Cedar Fair parks, so there may be some combination discounts for the two parks. Let me know if you have any other questions... CoasterFanatic
Plan on hitting the parks in Mid-May and hit Cedar Point mid-week. The place is always a ghost town for the first couple weeks.
EricLovesTZTOT
Thanks a lot for your messages. So I think I'm going to choose mid-may to experiment Ghost-Cedar-Point
EricLovesTZTOT
First I planed to land at Cincinatti to visit PKI. But I saw that a Paris-Chicago flight is less expensive than a Paris-Cincinnati and that Chicago is not so far from Cedar Point. Then I decide to change to Chicago. After discussing with Elissa at Parc Astérix on 4th of july, I've choosen to visit Six Flags Great America (more than Indiana Beach) that she discribed me as a very good parc with really great steal coasters. Thanks for this advice Elissa. May be we'll spend a day to visit the city of Chicago too. If you have few advices for SFGA, hotels or things to visit in Chicago, you're welcome... What do you think about a 2 days visit at SFGA ? Is it to much ? Is 1 day enough to ride all the rides (the non-coaster rides too) ?
