Two things I will miss most about GL: Dominator and Big Dipper.

Let me start off by saying that this park was kind of strange. Its location takes you by surprise - across the street from strip malls in a normal suburban community. The layout was unique - a large lake separates the two sides of the park. The guests were (how do I put this...?) working class (there, that's a nice description) - lots of tattoos, smoking, some mullets. The park regulations were lax - shirtless guys, bathing suit-ed girls (on the ride side of the park).

Amazingly, none of that strip mall stuff was there less than ten years ago. The park used to be somewhat in the countryside, but recently the area has been attracting a lot of upscale businesses and housing. That fact seems to contradict what has been a major problem at GL since the SF days, the aforementioned less than...erm...quality... guests who just seem to hang out there. I had high hopes for the park; too bad they've been so blatantly busted to smithereens...

Oh, and by the way, walking around with no shirt, wearing offensive clothing, smoking outside designated areas, wearing nothing but a bathing suit outside of the waterpark, to name a few things off your list, are against Cedar Fair policy (public smoking is also banned in Ohio except for the areas designated by the park). Alas, mullets are not banned, though they should be!

Great TR! I was there on opening day of the season for my only visit of the year. Did not know that it would be my last visit ever.

The movie is 'The Jerk' ..you can have anything from here....to here, not this, but .... great movie.

yay me.

I wil be visiting Dominator in June to bring back some memories.

Great TR, as the posters above me have already reiterated. It brings back some great memories of the few fleeting months in which I was able to enjoy GL. Even if it was lacking in rides and atmosphere at that point in its history, I'll still miss the park. I remember going to the Sea World side of the park when I was younger, and I definitely remember the 2007 season, brief as it might have been. I only became interested in coasters (and willing to ride them) in late May of that year, when my school took a field trip to the park. As I said... memories...

Oh, yeah! I forgot to put that in my post! One of my all-time favorite movies. "Oh, it's a profit deal! That takes the pressure off!"
