Expedition GeForce

I've always noticed that Expedition GeForce's trains were a little odd. The front cars are both the new style of Intamin trains, as found on Goliath...but the rest of the train is the older style of Intamin trains, ala Millennium Force. I then noticed this picture while browsing rcdb; which has the older-style front car on it, but in a picture from a year later, it has the newer style front car on it.

So...why did Holiday Park do this on Expedition GeForce? It seems like a very odd thing to do, especially since the trains look out of whack now...
