robbalvey
Hey Adobe users! I need some help with something.... I've recently upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CS3 and it does something that my previous version of Photoshop didn't... And that is, when you are opening a bunch of photos, it will automatically rotate your image to either portrait or landscape based on how you took the photo. I would like to turn this off as I want ALL my images loaded in landscape mode so I can batch process them easier. Anyone know how to turn off this "auto-rotate" feature? I've looked everywhere in the preferences, googled it, and nothing. Please help! --Robb
Wes
Under File Handling in Preferences, check "Ignore EXIF Profile Tag".

Wes
If you're wondering why it was doing that, EXIF data is metadata that is embedded into the picture from your camera. Basically, it tells nearly everything about the photo: When it was taken, if the flash was used, exposure, and if the camera was oriented landscape or portrait. Photoshop can read the EXIF metadata and then adjust the picture accordingly. Turning on that setting is telling Photoshop to ignore all that and just import the picture as is.
