danandjackie Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 With the strength of sterling against the HK$ we can get flights from the UK to HK via Switzerland for less than £400...[about 650 dollars i guess].. Are you going to check out disneyland hong kong, looking at the official site it has nothing on it but drawings though some of the prices for pre booking the official hotels are unbelievable at about £35 for a room in the disney hollywood hotel.. My only reservation is apart from Hong Kong itself [which should be plenty to do] the actual park may be a bit , unfinished and small....
robbalvey Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 We are planning to check out Hong Kong Disneyland this Christmas. Details are still in the works, and if that trip does actually happen, we'll post information about it to see if anyone would want to meet up! We'll know more after Europe if we're doing that trip or not. --Robb
Wes Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 The park itself is very small. Don't make a trip to HK just for Disney, especially if you've been to another Disney park. Everything is basically a repeat attraction, so if you've been to WDW or DL within the past five years, you're not going to find anything unique. If you were planning on going to Hong Kong anyway, and Disneyland is just a sidetrip, I'd say go for it. But if HKDL is your destination, wait about five years til' they get some more original attractions in the place. Also, a new website for HKDL will be launching at the end of the month. There will be more complete and accurate information.
Erik Johnson Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Yes, there is a lot to do in Hong Kong....If you go to Hong Kong make sure you visit the other park Ocean Park. I got to go to Hong Kong in 1996 for about 4 days...there is a lot to do there...though I only drove by Ocean Park. I do remember seeing that they did have one or two roller coaster there. Its located on Hong Kong island itself....kinda build up on one of the mountains. Make sure you take the train ride up to the peak as well.....you get a great view!.
