I would probably recommend PM'ing people in the area that you have met or chatted with through the site. No sense in throwing an invite out to 50,000 people you don't know at all.

It's exactly like the calendar, you just post the days you are going to a park, or plan your visited to parks when other member will be there to meet-up

I've thought about a simple "Meetup thread" where people would post a park, date, and time. People could then PM each other for phone numbers, etc.
