Pufferfish Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Hi everyone. I've decided to have a little fun and show you all a park that I'm currently working on. First, a little background: Forest park was a small park in the middle of a large forest, thus the name. Now, the park has been bought and expanded massively. The new owners tore down the forest and flattened the land, I don't know what they are going to do to that land, but it sounds big. So, naturally I'm curious about the expansion. Now, onto the pictures. Tell me what you think. EDIT: This is confusing, the preview had the pictures in the correct order, but now they are out of order. Start from the bottom and read your way up so that the captions make sense. Here is a current overview of the developed area. Everything else is flat, grassy terrain. They should have left those trees there. Forest Runner is the park's woody and the oldest ride at the park. It's extremely compact. Take a look at those curves. It's a really fun ride with a lot of air time. The peeps agree. This is forest star. It spins and flips a lot. It's not too popular. This is the park's Arrow log flume, Forest Creek. It's final drop is quite a soaker. And now, the park's newest attraction: Green Giant! It's a Premier LIM launched coaster, so, of course, here's a shot down the launch tunnel. This small over banked turn is my favorite element. It is very forceful. This is a really good ride. Apparently, not everyone thinks the same. High capacity, or low popularity? I leave you with a picture of the park's wave swinger.
Kingbooba Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 It's a good park, I mean there is not much to comment on. The LIM Launched coaster is reallyy cool though.
Pufferfish Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 I know, i just started work on this. I was hoping for some ideas on what to add.
Kingbooba Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Oh, I think a B&M 4 across stand-up would be cool. Cobra or Anaconda or Mamba, something snake-themed.
Steffen_Dk Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Great little park I really like how compacted it is - though I'm not the biggest fan of coasters standing close to each other. But I can't wait to see what's in the next update - the expansion sounds interesting.
Pufferfish Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Update #2! The park was expanded out past the outdoor eatery. The new area is going to be full of flat rides. So far, three have been built. Also, a little birdie told me that the park was talking to B&M. Can't wait to see what comes out of this! Here's a picture of the outdoor eatery. It gets very crowded at night. Oh, what's this. I guess that little birdie was correct. Whee! Airtime! To recap, here's Green Giant. It's still my favorite ride at the park. And they had to put in a merry-go-round. I guess the park is thinking more kid friendly. Here's the new scrambler. It's a park staple. It was deemed popular as soon as it opened. Here's the new Disko.
Steffen_Dk Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 I'm saying a floorless Again I like this park, but furnitures outside, are never a good idea. Try to build an inside eatery or change the table and corner sofas with regular benches.
Kingbooba Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 floorless, twister, or (dare I say) a stand-up? Great park, nothing I could do in RCT3.
Pufferfish Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Update #3! I know you are just as excited about the year 3 additions as me! Two more flat rides and a pair of S&S towers have been added to the park, but those aren't the star attractions this year. That title goes to the new B&M floorless! To end it off, here's Copperhead through-the-trees! Sorry, couldn't help myself. Here's the MCBR. I want to do something else with it, but I can't think of anything else. Ideas? Looks like they are having fun. First riders! This picture was taken during testing. Trains are no longer that color. It is 118 feet tall, has 7 inversions, and has a top speed of 61 MPH. Now, what you've been waiting for. It's name is Copperhead (very poisonous snake found where i live). The blue tower is more thrilling. It launches you up the tower at 90 miles per hour and lets you return by freefall. The green tower is milder, running a simple lift, freefall program. Here's the new S&S towers. Both are 200 feet tall. Here's the other new flat ride. Tea Cups! I'm good at these. Ride with me, you come off sick. First though, here's the new Top Scan, Black Widow.
Pufferfish Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 As requested, here are a series of overviews that show the layouts of each coaster: Copperhead Green Giant Forest Runner
Kingbooba Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Copperhead's MCBR would be cool if it was in a tunnel...
Pufferfish Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Yeah, I thought that, but it normally doesn't look realistic.
KPP Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 On Copperhead, you should have made the last two inversions interlocking corkscrews.
Pufferfish Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 I would have, but there was a problem with space. Also, if I had done that, it would have interrupted the flow of the coaster at that point, because to avoid the space issue I would have had to put in a right corkscrew as the second and then would have had to do a left turn out of it. Or make a cramped, obscure, speed-killing helix. Trust me, I wanted too.
