Well, on friday morning i'm setting off to Balbado, Scotland to go to one of the best music festivals in the UK......T IN THE PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really cannot wait!!! But if there is anyone on here that has been to this or any kind of music festival before can you give me some advise or tips to make the experience the best it can be.

I'm camping when i'm there.

I just want to know things like:

- How much money should I take? (approx)

- What kind of footwear?

-Camping tips?

and just general advise please.

Thanks!

Based on what I survived on at the Download...

£60-80 on food if you're not taking any of your own

Take boots and trainers... Don't forget to spray them with waterproofing!

Attach a chain to your wallet

Take loads of clothes

Jumpers!

Suncream, glasses and hat

Oh man you went to download!!!! Got told it was awesome!

Thanks for the details!

What kind of boots and trainers would you advise?

I have a few old pairs of converse but they would get wrecked by the end of day one!

Thanks again

No problem... This could eventually end up saving you (it really will...)

-Any type of trainers really, I've had mine for around 7 years (yuck) and they've not fallen apart or anything...

-Whatever you do, whatever trainers you take, SPRAY THEM WITH WATERPROOFING IN THE EVENING AND MORNING!!!

-Also, take a pillow. put damp items either underneath your sleeping bag or under your pillow. Your body heat will dry it.

-Take a bag for anything. Wrap valubles up in waterproofs/those zip-up bags and put in zipped pockets.

-Make sure the door of your tent is facing downhill... People at Download put the door facing the top of the hill. It rained and their tent and everything in it was ruined. This leads me on to...

-Take an orange survival bag!!! When you're not in the tent, put your sleeping stuff in there... The last thing you want is catching pneumonia or hypothermia from a wet sleeping bag...

-Drink regularly (well duh). Save the booze for the last night or you will ruin your weekend.

all I can say now is...

Stay safe and have fun!!!

Wow...man thats really great advise! Thanks a lot seriously.

Anyway, earlier you said something about a chain for a wallet? Where could I get one?

In fact, where would it be best to go to get most of the stuff you have sugested? I mean stuff like the survival bag etc

Who did you go see at download btw?

Thanks again

The best place(s) to go are Millets and Field&Trek. It'll be expensive, but if it means comfort, it's well worth it!!!

Also, take anything to decorate your tent with so you can clearly identify it

Any dog chain should do for the wallet... See mine below

Don't take anything valuble... No IPods or mp3 players, portable dvd players, CD Players, etc... They will get stolen!

Also (flippin' hell! I'm startin' to sound like my mum!) take padlocks so you can padlock your tent up... Yes, people can unhook the pegs and get in that way, but do you think the majority of them will actually think about that when they're drunk or drugged up?

If I remember anything else, I'll post again and again
