spaceace12 Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Going into the day, I knew it was going to be packed, but how much packed surprised me. I got there 30 minutes before opening, and had to park halfway out on raven lot. Had about 20 minutes for my dad showed up so I walked down to voyage to get a early morning ride, but atlast, it was opening late. So I rode the Turkey Whirl and met up with my dad and his new wife's family. It was about 10:30 and the food was being served at noon so I knew I wouldn't get many rides in before lunch. Went to raven and it was full all the way back to the entrance to switchbacks with all switchbacks being used. Took about 45 minutes and we got a back seat ride. We had about 30 minutes before we ate so I got in Liberty Launches Single rider line and got a ride almost immediately. And then we ate. After lunch we decided to hit up the water park. It was as bad as the dry park. Bakuli's line was all the way to the bridge that goes over the lazy river. All other lines were just as long. We were in the water park until about 5pm when there was a lightning shut down. So we decided to head up to the Thanksgiving section and ride the Gobbler Getaway. Took about 30 minutes to make it through, again all switchbacks being used. Then as we exited I heard the sound of Liberty Launch and knew the Weather shut down was done. So me and my dad headed over to the Voyage. Took about 20 minutes to get the opening procedures done. We were up to the deck that goes above the track and my dad chickened out! Said he was sick. So I got a back seat ride in and met up at Plymouth Rock Cafe. About this time I noticed dark clouds rolling in and waited for the ever happy announcement that there would be a weather shut down. We decided to grab some grubb and the clouds kept rolling in but no announcement. As we got done with eating, the PA announcer came on and said that "the storms are coming in with lightning and rain are coming in about 15 to 30 minutes and that the rain might last a while. So we finished eating and about 5 minutes after that announcement it started raining. So much for 15 to 30 minutes. We started walking up towards the entrance and about halfway up, they did the weather delay for Splashing Safari and some rides. By the time we got up to the entrance, all rides were shut down. And we got our stuff and waited for the rain to let up to leave. Rides: Raven, Legend, Bakuli, Zoombabwa, Gobler Getaway, Voyage, and Liberty Launch all once. So with the crowds and the weather, that was a pretty Descent day. I came in with just hope I could get a couple rides on coasters and some flats and water rides. Can't wait for September for crowds to lighten up and for me to goto to Cedar Point. I do plan on being the last public train on out Voyage on Closing day, I was the first public train out on opening day. And that will probably end my coaster year.
easytoremember Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Was this on a Saturday? I was just there on a week day and I got plenty of rides on everything.
easytoremember Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Thats too bad that it was that crowded. Just curious, but what did you think of Voyage?
