Marko Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Lake Winnie - This is a great little park and definitely worth a stop if you're in the neighborhood. Their mouse is absolutely wicked and Cannonball is no slouch, love their space shot tower too. The Boat Chute was a hoot although I can't help but wonder what's taken place in that insanely long dark tunnel over the years, you must be in the pitch dark for close to five minutes! Bet there's a few Boat Chute babies out there. This is a beautiful small park, with a fun dark ride, sky ride and all in all just a relaxing place to visit for a few hours. Alabama Adventure and Rip Roarin Rampage - So we're driving south on I-59 and we're getting near the park. This is very hilly/mountainish country and off on the horizon I catch a glimpse of what appears to be a spaceshot/drop tower on the top of a mountain. I assumed it was a radio tower and mentioned to my son how cool it would be if someone did do a Stratosphere kinda thing except in a wilderness setting. Well it turns out AA did exactly that, they have my absolute favorite spaceshot tower, yes even better than Indiana Beach. You need to ride all four sides, preferably at or near sunset. The views are absolutely breathtaking when you hit the top and then bounce around for quite a while giving plenty of time to look around. But wait, we were at AA for a coaster event, and we did indeed ride Rampage (quickly renamed Rumpage for some reason) many, many times. And it's a fine CCI, lots of airtime, not too rough, but pretty much lacking any defining moment. Very similar reaction as we had to Thunderhead, it's good, just not great. Oddly enough Zoomerang was pretty smooth and our one ride was a ton of fun. Attendance for ERT was very light, maybe one train's worth. It was supposed to last until midnight but we were pretty much cooked by 11:00 and headed out of the park. One word of advice, eat before you get to this park or head out for food. We had vouchers for a free meal and watched the "cook" in the back room toss chicken tenders and fries into our baskets with his bare hands, snacking on a few of the fries in the process. Different standards of cleanliness apparently! Next stop, Six Flags Over Georgia. Goodbye AA, how did I forget to get a picture of the Space Shot? And Zoomerang, not all bad. Yep, there it is! The reason we were here, Rumpage! Can't complain about the entrance. And now we're magically at Alabama Adventure. Obligatory Cannon Ball shot (yes, that's a pun). The drop and tunnel - very unique ride. ...and more BC... Boat Chute... You're getting the idea, this is a great little park! And of that wicked bite ya good mouse of theirs. A view from the sky ride of Cannon Ball. "I hope we get blisters and germs!"
redfoot12 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 but we were pretty much cooked by 11:00 and headed out of the park. I read this as "coked by 11". Maybe time for some sleep myself.
