LOVE SFKK Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 So this weekend i went down to Springfield MO to pick up some bees for my granpas honey business. ME and my cousin (Dbrew2007) decided we wanted to go to to SDC, so we went. First off i think the price is reficulous, 50 bucks and they only have 3 major roller coasters. Ill cut to the chase and get right to the ride reviews. WILDFIRE: 8.5/10 I thought this was a great B&M, and the dip out of the station was awesome. The ride was great, and the best inversion was the immelman. It was really forcefull and actually had airtime. This is my new favorite B&M. They really need to start making rides like this again, and stop making rides like (cough PATRIOT cough HYDRA cough) AMERICA PLUNGE: 10/10 This is the best log flume in the world. The setting is awesome. The 2 min. long ride throughb the tunnel was awesome. and the Drop was out of your seat crazy. FIRE IN THE HOLE: 6/10 THis was oe of those fun rides that you do every time your in the park, but you dont do them more than once. The dark ride part was pretty good, even if the flames were kind of cheesey. The coaster part really caught you by surprise, and the ''big'' drop into the water was lots of fun. POWDER KEG: A BLAST IN THE WILDERNESS: 10/10 We waited in line the longest for this, but it was sooo goood, we waited for the front row, and it was awesome. The launch was really powerful, and the whole ride was packed with airtime. The only downside of the ride is that the waterjets werent working, and the fire blasters werent running the whole day. This is my new #1 ( sorry EL TORO) ***NEW RIDE***GIANT SWING: 8.5/10 The one thing that sets this screamin swing apart is the theming. THe barn theming is awesome, and I love that once you enter the Q, you cant see the ride, you can just hear the screams. In the Barn in tells you the story of the Swing and where its located ( wilson farms) THere are some exhibits like the Wilsons prize winning cow, and newspaper articles on thw GIANT SWINg. The ride was great, and the cycle was short, but not too short. This swing also comes within at least 5-10 feet of the trees so it gives a footchopper effect. This is a great new addition to SDC. LOST RIvER OF THE OzARKS: 2/10 This really is a non thrilling raft ride, and you have to wait for at least 10 minutes to get of the thing b/c the ride ops dont know how to run it! I will give it some credit though for having the skull the drenches you. Geyser Gulch: 0/10 BORING! WaterWorks WATERBOGGEN: 7.5/10 When we rode this, we had to wait for more people to come, b/c you have to have the combined wait of the raft be 300 pounds. WE were going to ditch it until these three kids started screaming '' Its better than Powder Keg, Its better than Powder KEg. Finally we found some dude and his kid to ride with, and we were off. WE got into the raft, and this thing got us drenched. every turn we got souked and the triple down almost drowned us. I liked it but my cousin hated it b/c he had his new Air Jordans on. Overall it was okay. We would have loved to go to Grand Expo, but we didnt know it was een their untill we left. They really need to have more signs to advertise it better. THUNDERATION: 9/10 I thought this was a really fun and forceful mine train, and the helix of death was awesome. I cant belive im saying this, but this thing might have cracked my top 10. IT was also really fun that the 3 and 5th cars were reversed. THe tunels, and the big drop were awesome, and we rode it 15 or so times. Overall it was a great day at SDC and we got all the big rides done with a few repeats in 2 hours and 45 min. I cnat wait to get back to this awesome park. After we had a fun day, our luck turned, the truck broke down about 20 miles out of KC, and i had to miss school the next day becasue we couldnt get it working. Another bad thing is that it was loaded with honey bees, and when i had to take them off the truck they were very angry for sitting in a truck for 2 days.

Shavethewhales Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 "Geyser Gulch: 0/10 BORING! " Dude, you can't put a price on totally pwning some loser in the face with a water cannon, or pegging some obnoxious little brats with foam balls from a cannon... good times. As for the price, a season pass is definitely worth it if you can make it to the park more than twice. For less than $80, you get free-reign to the park for an entire year, from spring to Christmas.
