spaceace12 Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Going in September. I looked at some hotels online that were 60 bucks a night. Don't need the best, but don't want the worst. Relativitly close to CP with a shuttle service preferably.
Carnage Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Breakers Express. It's the best balance of cost and comfort. It's not too pricey, and you get all the Cedar Point resort perks. If you try and go any cheaper you're going to risk getting a real dive. It's really not worth the $10 savings. As far as I know most hotels don't have shuttles. Though while I was checking in a couple weeks ago an employee mentioned that a cab to Cedar Point was only $5.
spaceace12 Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 Thank you. I got a suggestion for tpr. How about a section for hotel reviews. Each major park can have it's own thread and people reply in there instead of making threads like this. And having reviews by other tpr's would help in the decision process. BTW, if anyone else has any suggestions, go ahead and post please. The one other one I was looking at was the Howard Johnson, anyone ever stayed there?
Carnage Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 ^ Which one? The Hojo Express over on 250? Or the Hojo across from the causeway? I've stayed in both. The one on 250 was alright, but nothing special. The one across from the causeway was crap. It was cheap, but the beds felt like I was sleeping on a board. I've found that the non-Cedar Point hotels are all pretty hit or miss.
spaceace12 Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 It was the one right across from the causeway.
Carnage Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Yeah, I'd avoid that one. If you're looking to save as much as possible you could try checking prices of hotels closer to the turnpike. It means a bit longer of a drive to the park however.
shepp Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Have you looked into a Breakers Express package for the dates you're going? I found the perks (free parking, early entry, etc.) and convenient location worthwhile. Not a bad place, either.
HogarthOK Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 The Knight's Inn on Rt. 6 is barely OK -- and at least last year, it was like $45 on a Friday night (September 21st) It's fairly close -- http://tinyurl.com/33vh93 but if you don't have Joe Cool or a Maxx Pass, Breakers Express will definitely suit you better. Last week, the wife and I stayed at the Comfort Suites on 250 -- it's a good distance away from the park, but it's 100% non-smoking, and the hotel is only 3 years old. Not great on a budget -- but fairly comfortable.
